I had such a good holiday! There were lots of teenagers on the campsite, so I was able to socialise and have a good time! We went surfing in Biarritz which was also good fun! It is close to Lourdes as a lot of people went to Lourdes while they were there! An all round great holiday!

We stayed there with Keycamp the first week of September with our two children aged 10 and 14 years. It was very very quiet however, I think it was because the kids had gone back to school as apparently it was packed up until that week. (Please note, there were NO children apart from ours there and it was jam packed with people over 65 years old) It has a spa pool complex as well as a pool with slides and a play area for children. The spa pool is heated so attracted more people. It was fab, Jacuzzi, spa type chairs in the pool with bubbles, lazy river, indoor pool next to it too (well a pool with a conservatory type thing over it which opens up when the weather permits) sauna, steam room. I believe you have to pay a small fee to go into this part in high season but we didn't pay with it being September. The other pool was nice and was like a beach, slowly getting deeper so good for younger children and good slides, but not heated. It was empty the whole time we were there as there were no children there. There is a snack bar overlooking this pool with nice wicker chairs which was closed the whole time we were there unfortunately which was a real shame as we would have used it a lot. There is a reception with the usual, tourist information you needed and a main restaurant which served mostly the same thing every night, steak and chips were nice, but come on, not every night and ...the obligatory chicken nuggets and chips for children grrrrrrr.....We ate out in Bidart a couple of times which has a few nice restaurants there. The nightlife was very quiet on the campsite but I think would be nice in high/mid season as it has a big open wooden seating area where they have acts on sometimes. The caravan we stayed in with Keycamp was nice and clean and we arrived very early the first day after travelling all night through France. The rep couldn't have been more helpful getting our caravan ready for us as soon as possible. We did however, when booking ask for one of the caravans with a real sofa in as shown on the website, but were given one of the normal ones with the horrible hard sofa's in the living area.
Overall, I would say it is a lovely site, great pools and restaurant/bar area, but if you like it busier and are visiting with children, don't go in September.

We stayed at Le Ruisseau in July 2012 and booked through Keycamp. We were dissapointed with the caravan we were allocated on arrival as it was very dark inside, despite the glorious sunshine outside. There was also a huge branch from a large tree hanging down onto the table on the decking. We would have been unable to eat at the table outside and there was no chance of any sunshine on the decking. We spoek to the reps who immediately moved to a much better caravan which we were very happy with (hopefully the offending branch will have now have been removed!!). There were no more complaints from us for the rest of the holiday!! We have twin 6yr old boys who had a great time as there were so many things for them to do on the site. They played crazy golf, football, bounced on the trampoline. The pool was great and there was a new splash pad which was lots of fun. The toilet blocks on the site were cleaned regularily so always spotless. We didn't eat at the on site restaurant as we preferred to self cater and shopped at the near by Lidl which was much better value that the Intermarche on the other side of the road! Overall we had a great holiday and would definitely recommend to any family.

We (two adults and 4 kids aged 8-13) stayed here with Europarcs and had a great family holiday. The weather was excellent and the pool- though across a busy road- was lovely. The sunlounger area was small but we quickly got used to timing our visits it so that we all got a sunbed. The water slides kept the kids amused for ages, and the sports facilities were really excellent- enclosed allweather football pitch, grass rugby pitch, play ground, bouncy castles, picnic benches, Pelote court, tennis courts, and even a small ZOO!
We didn't bother with the restaurant on site, preferring to self cater after frequent trips to the convenient supermarkets. The mobile home was brand new, though somewhat smaller than the one we stayed in last year in La Rochelle. The deck was adequate - though again smaller than before but overall the accomodation was comfortable and pristine. The Europarcs Reps were very helpful and on hand to attend to any issue that cropped up..eg lack of kitchen equipment. They were based in a caravan nearby and were happy to lend our kids any of the inflatable pool toys left behind by previous guests. They couldn't have been nicer.
The surrounding towns were teeming with life and we happened on a "pelote" match one evening which was thrilling. The city beach in Biarritz was spotless and a nice change from the pool. Also the Cite de l'ocean Museum was the best modern exhibition space I've ever been in- a stunning modern building and the most engaging exhibition that even the kids were happy to spend two hours in - don't miss it ,

Nice clean site, only one issue on one night where disco was still going at 12.00 and barmaid said another half hour to go, me thinks not. One word to the bar owner and it was stopped. Otherwise good stay, ideal for biarritz, bidart and st jean de luz. Lovely area and good area for surfing , body boards and sea.

Try the fee paying pool but avoid the nutters

Having read some terrible reviews for this campsite we were concerened as to what we would arrive to. We need not have worried. Booked through Europarcs who provided a beautiful clean mobile home with decking. Could hear noise from the road, but soon got used to it. We found the site friendly, clean and an international feel with many different European families who the boys soon made friends with, especially around the football pitch!! Beaches in the area were great for surfing and body boarding. Swimming pool was great and enough for my 14 year old and 9 year old to enjoy themselves. Weather was fantastic. Having been to France for a few years with other companies and campsites, we will certainly return to Le Ruisseau and use Europarcs again.

This site is a delight to visit and as soon as you get there you settle into a home from home. The site is situated about 1 mile from the centre of Bidart so a car is advisable although there is a regular free bus that can take you there and onwards.

The site itself is clean, friendly and full of entertainment and activities. The pools are terrific and well maintained and the restaurant bar has a great menu that will definately fill you up aswell as a high quality of both food and service.

Everywhere is clean and well attended too and this site makes an ideal base for exploring the basque region. Dont come here expecting the weather like the mediterranean as its far more changeable but that is one of the many joys of this region.

We cannot recommend this site highly enough - the bad reviews appear to be people who have issues with tour operators not the site! everyone we saw was smiling, relaxed and having a great time, its a hidden gem in a beautiful hidden part of france

Room Tip: Choose Eurocamp the reps are excellent and will fall over themselves to make sure your stay is perfe...
