“Overnight stop on 2000 mile road trip.”
Reviewed March 28, 2012 via mobile

Stayed here last week following a drive from Italy. Got there quite late and parking was tricky, initially, but the staff were very helpful in getting our vehicle into their garage. We had booked a twin room but for some reason, even though there didn't appear to be any other occupants that night, we didn't end up getting it, but were given two single rooms instead, beautifully equipped.

These things apart, I have absolutely no other issues. Both customer service and dining we exceptional and a credit to a Relais And Cahteaux establishment.

Although the location on a main street in Selestat is not very attractive, the hotel itself is a beautiful building and has romatic, spacious rooms. Bathroom and toilet are luxury, the beds are good and the service is excellent! As a base for a visit to the elzas wine region however I would prefer a hotel in one of the many small pittoresque villages. For a stop over on a yourney however it totally met our expectations. We enjoyed dinner in their luxury restaurant, food was very good, service again excellent, but overpriced!

We stayed here to break the long journey home from Italy to Scotland, the hotel does not have free parking onsite so we parked on the street. The room was large but part of it was a long windowed corridor covered in nets.
We ate in the resturant and found it too stuffy and although the food was good the service was not, it was a busy night and there was a lack of attentiveness from the staff we had to ask for more drinks and water between courses our needs were not anticipated which is one of the service requirements we expect from Relais. The meal was very good but the service very poor compared to other Relais we have stayed at.
We would not stay here again.

We like to stop at this hotel when we are near Selestat. It's lovely, it has a very good restaurant with delicious food, good wines and excellent service. Everybody is very professional and friendly. You can explore the city and part of Alsace from there or you can simply stop for one night. You will always feel welcome. Only one negative note: the breakfast buffet is nice but small and if you get there just after a group or a big family... please be patient!

We stayed one night in this small "Relais et Châteaux" during our trip to Zermatt.
Very kind welcome, with sweet wine and delicious home-made muffins.
The room is ok, in a French provincial style; perfectly kept. Do not expect great views from the room; the building, though charming, is in the city; it has a small garden.
Food was excellent, and the city of Sélestat deserves a visit.
This hotel is a good option for a short stop in Alsace.

We booked 2 rooms for my family in June and we were not disappointed. It was a beautiful place to stay and the service was top-notch. We had a long, leisurely dinner at the hotel restaurant and the fois gras was divine!

Beautiful house, nice rooms - very good 4 star hotel. Lovely garden to dine in. The hotel is in the quite nice city of Selestat and is conveniently located but is obviously not in the country side. Friendly service.
