Had a wonderful, chaotic week at the Patra Jasa on business in a good, big suite that was (luckily for me) not very far from where I was having my business meetings.
As I say in the header - it's all there but you just have to ask for it. Opened in 1974 - this is a "local" 5* hotel so doesn't fit into any of the International brackets such as the Holiday Inn next door but it is, nonetheless, a great experience once you get used to it. The staff are fine and if there is anything you need you just have to ask them and they will go out of their way to find it for you. Breakfast is, admittedly, a little chaotic and you just have to muck in and help the (very few) staff who are there early in the morning. I set up the toasters for them on a couple of occasions but saw no problem with that and eventually my scrambled eggs arrived - and they were just fine. Evening meals are a bit hit and miss (although they did try very hard to deliver) and I would advise doing what just about everyone else does and go out to eat! There are plenty of good eating places in town and if you don't fancy that then a five minute walk along the beach path will bring you to the excellent Holiday Inn Restaurant which also features good entertainment!
I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed ambience of the place and would go back again if required.
