Excellent location. So near to the airport, at the same time not far from kuta or legian. The resort is spread across a huge area and has a own beach (almost). The pool is great and central attraction. The tea tree spa is great and 30 metres from beach. The pool bar is great and they make some nice cocktails. The envy bar is also a nice place to hangout in the evening. The ocean view room maybe slightly expensive, but definitely worth it. Go for it.. all in all, amazing experience!

Hi
This is my first review ever. Having read the reviews of some of the Resorts in Bali, and being our first time there, we decided to give this one a go. Two Adults and 3 teenage children, We were not disappointed in any way. From the moment we arrived until the time we left, we found the staff friendly, informative and helpful. We had booked 2 deluxe garden view rooms, but were upgraded to first floor pool view rooms, which have balconies, and a great outlook over the garden to the pool and even some sea views. Was very nice sitting at any time of the day, sipping on a beverage or two. There is happy hour every day at the swim up bar where two cocktails will cost around $9.50AUD. My tip is to enjoy this time of the day to unwind in the bar before you decide to eat in at the restaurants or try another venue. The restaurant food was great and resonably priced.
Breakfast in the morning was very good with so much variety that you could sit there from 6.30 to 10.30am and gouge yourself stupid if you pleased. Nothing like eating sweet and sour chicken with rice or noodles for breakfast. We filled up on breakfast so there wasnt much need to have any lunch and as the weather was hot and humid, a drink was all that we needed.
A bottle of water was provided for drinking/teeth cleaning. A tip is to buy some water from the local convenience stores which are everywhere and cost about 40cents AUD for 1.5 litres. Bin Tang is also cheap around $1.40 for small bottle to $2.30 for 600ml bottle. These are also purchased from local convenience stores.
The location of the Resort is excellent as it is away from the hustle and bustle of Kuta. Very quiet and also the security to the resort is fantastic. Didn't feel threatened in any way. There is security as you come into the driveway and also security at the beach front.
Can't rave about this place enough. It was a fantastic trip. If you don't want to use the inhouse spa services there are plenty of massage places in walking distances which cost around $5 an hour. Further to avoid any stomach upsets only eat at reputable eateries.
You want be disappointed with this place.
Had a great taxi driver which we used all the time called Komang Sutanegara. Nickname is KOOLMAN. He is on facebook. Tell him Rob from Adelaide recommended him. He speaks English very well and will take you anywhere you want to go and also advise on places which you should see. Jimbaran bay for seafood on the beach was breathtaking. If you use KOOLMAN treat him very well as this man has a wealth of knowledge and made our stay even more enjoyable.

Room Tip: First floor pool view rooms were great.

We stayed here for 1 week in march , we were greeted at reception given a drink and towel we were shown to our room which was quite nice however we had requested a king sz bed and a sofa or roll away for our daughter and we got a double and sofa bed , when I went to the front desk I was told they didn't have a king sz bed but it doesn't sy that on their site when you are booking so that was disappointing , on top of that the girl really didn't seem to care , so I just ended up walking of , some nights I had to sleep with my daughter as the sofa bed was bigger than the double bed of which my husband took up 3/4 of just not comfortable . the tiles in our room were very slippery when the air was going I know this is due to condensation but they were also greay they needed to be cleaned with a really good floor cleaner we used a towel to dry them a bt and when we lifted the towel. T was filthy and the house keeper had only been and cleaned the room a little earlier. Also the shower had a lot of mould on the grouting needs to e cleaned with bleech it was a bit grose . Our beds were changed everyday which was great and water replaced , I had to call to reception for coffee as that had not been replaced . We had 2 fantastic day beds on our balcony but no cushions this was very uncomfortable I got the house keeper to get us some which was done ASAP but still a five star resort should already have these things done . There was a hair dryer supplied in the room but no plug to plug t in I had to sit in the wardrobe area to do my air on the luggage rack not really good enough. One night my auger ordered apple pie at the restaurant by the pool she couldn't eat it as it was full of sultannasand other stuff so I sent it back , when. Looked over I saw 4 of the staff dissecting it and looking through. T then one staff member brought it over too me and said oh there is apple in here and he showed me one little piece of apple I couldn't believe so I just said ok whatever 'like OMG. ? On a couple of occasions my daughter went to get an ice cream but no one was there to serve her , breakfast ok floor was filthy I had to tell one staff member to clean the floorbtherewas food all over from the buffet the night before also not five star, on more than 2 occasionsihadto ask for new hash browns to be cooked as they were soft and floating in a pool of oil food was often cold . The omelettes were great and made to order and the staff always happy never rood eager to please I found them better than most places I've been so there area few things that need serious attention to be a great five star hotel .We have stayed at the busakorn wing holiday inn Thailand hands down better five star

We stayed here during February of 2013 and we had a fantastic time. The staff are very helpful, friendly and they go out of their way to ensure you feel right at home. The rooms are very modern, clean and comfortable. We stayed in a pool side room which gives easy access to all the facilities. It is quiet and private contrary to what others have posted about the location of the pool side rooms.

There are so many great facilities available in the resort such as the tennis courts and the pool. The shop had very reasonable prices and there was a mini fridge in the room which allowed you to store your own food.

Overall it is amazing how affordable it was to have such a well serviced and comfortable and stylish resort.

Only downside is the beach is filthy. I wouldn't even recommend just paddling in the water. The beaches further north are much nicer. But it is only a short walk or taxi ride up towards Legian.

Would definitely stay here again.

We were looking forward to our stay here after reading all the good reviews. We spent 4 nights here, and was upgraded to a Deluxe Garden View room, which had a beautiful view over a palmed lawn area and a glimpse of the sea. The room was very nice; modern, clean and well appointed. We did have a few issues with the room but all problems were rectified quickly and without fuss, which is a sign of a well run hotel.
The restaurants were fine, Envy and Palms, well priced but as others have mentioned the alcohol was expensive, and for the price charged, the beer should be cold, but it wasn't. The breakfast was quite a large selection, but our first one we found most of the food to be a bit cold, but it did improve over the next few days, so we must have got there at the wrong time. They do have their own shop where you can buy supplies at good prices, which is handy.
The pool is good, only about 1.5 metres deep which is ok, and has a swim up bar. The grounds are large and well maintained, plenty of gazebos with towels in them but no people, that is something that should be looked at... gazebo hogs. The beach area directly outside is ok but either side of the hotel it gets messy. The staff were ok, some better than others, but to be honest we didn't really spend much time in the hotel to form friendships etc. The Manager was very approachable, friendly and helpful.
The location is fairly good, away from the mayhem, but only a shortish walk or a $1 taksi ride to Kuta area, and very close to the airport. A great place to spend a few days before flying home.

We stayed at this resort for 5 nights at the end of March. We are Platinum priority members and received a room upgrade at check-in, free internet for the week, and discounts for the onsite restaurants. The staff were all incredibly nice and helpful. The food on site is delicious and well priced. The alcohol was more expensive than off site but that's ok, it's a resort not a hole in the wall pub. The facilities were all very clean and room was nice. We enjoyed a couples massage in the spa for about $50 US which is a great price. Yes, there are much cheaper once along the street however the facilities are worth their weight for cleanliness and professionalism. The convenience to the airport was great. For a beachfront resort, it has a lot to offer at an affordable rate. A resort of this caliber would be nearly twice as expensive in the Caribbean and Bahamas. If Bali wasn't so far from home we'd definitely be back again soon!

Room Tip: Garden View is nice and quiet if that's something of importance to you.

The Holiday Inn Baruna Bali is a very adequate hotel for Western tastes. The resort is safe and secure and has good, clean facilities and a decent set of bars and restaurants. But it is just adequate, not brilliant, but it is much better priced than some of the other Kuta options.

drawbacks are alcohol is at least twice the price of most Western places in Kuta, though food is generally the same as outside the hotel. The hotel is also about an hour's walk from the main Kuta hotspots, though this can be good in some ways as its not as noisy as the more centrally located hotels are.

The spa is very good, though it is astronomically more expensive than the massages you can get outside on the same street.

The staff are very friendly and helpful and made great efforts to accommodate our needs, particularly with an infant.

all in all, i'd stay here again though I'd do some things differently knowing now what I do about this hotel.
