Owner description: Welcome to Blue Water Divers and Watersports, Bermuda - we are under new ownership as of June 2012; we celebrated our one-year anniversary on 15 June 2013. We have worked hard over the past year to improve our presence on tripadvisor and other social media sites - we recognize that dive travelers are doing their research and choosing the places that best suit their needs, while focusing on the highest ratings in customer service. We run two-tank morning and one-tank afternoon trips on our 36 foot purpose-built Newton dive boat. We offer a full range of PADI courses, up to and including Assistant Instructor ratings. Please check out our website for details. If we can help in any way with planning your dives, please give us a call or contact us through our website. New transport option! WATER TAXI Bookings - for cruise passengers in Dockyard, or anyone close to Hamilton, we can book the new water taxi for you, which will pick you up and bring you directly to Robinson's Marina, and then run you back again after the dive boat gets back in. The price is similar to catching a regular taxi, and it's by far the best way to travel around Bermuda :) All the best - Chris Gauntlett | Owner/Operator | Blue Water Divers & Watersports, Bermuda

If you are seeking dive operator, look no further. Using Trip Advisor, we researched the tour operators on Bermuda Island to see what they had to offer and at what price. My wife and I were taking our open water course in Bermuda and it was important to us to have a professional crew located nearby to the Dockyards. Captain Chris and his team did a fantastic job getting us through the 4 tank dives and getting the chance to see some of the wrecks that Bermuda is famous for. Note that this is not a Dive Shop but a marina location that sells accessories that you may have forgotten to bring. They do rent gear. Since we brought our own gear, we just needed tanks and weights.
We found their prices to be reasonable and the equipment in good to excellent condition. Some of the other dive operators were charging $525 pp for a referral dive. BWD's price was $390. One can take a bus to Robinson's Marina. A taxi if you are in a hurry. The boat departs around 0900 and usually back by 1:15 or so.

Highly recommended if you are arriving by cruise ship. If you are staying at the Fairmont hotel, consider the Dive Bermuda as they are located at the hotel and you can do a shore-entry dive.

A great day, a fun dive, and very friendly people who turn serious at the right times. Can't ask for anything more from a dive operation.

My wife and I did a 2-tank dive with refresher course. We're both relatively inexperienced and hadn't been on a dive in a few years, so it was very reassuring that the BWD staff -- Chris, Marie, and especially our wonderful guide Ina--was very no-nonsense about equipment safety and proper conduct. As part of the refresher they assembled our equipment for us (but Chris also had us do it once ourselves, as a lesson) and kept a close eye on us on the dive itself.

But just as importantly, we had great fun. We covered three wrecks: Constellation, Montana, and Lartington. Marie gave us a nice overview of the history and what we'd be seeing, and Ina took us around and through all three wrecks - she had a much sharper eye than either of us for spotting cool fish, so she was definitely good to have! There weren't tons of interesting fish, but the wrecks were lots of fun to explore. Ina also brought an underwater camera, so we have lots of great pictures to remember the experience. We had a great time and will certainly come back to this shop next time we're in Bermuda.

Also worth a note - our dive was on a weekday and early in the season, so there wasn't much demand, but Chris was great about juggling schedules and sorting things out so that we could hit the minimum number of divers. He and Ina kept in touch with us the day before, including after business hours. Really appreciated their professionalism.

Excellent day out Sunday March 16, 2014. First time whale watching off the Bermuda shores - amazing show of natures majestic creatures. If you have not been out to spot the whales this is a must see! Put this trip on your bucket list. Chris and his crew were well informed and respected the whales by staying away at safe distance - we waited and they came closer to us!
I got some great photos with a small camera. If in any doubt take a pill to prevent sea sickness - we went a few miles off shore but could still see land in distance.

This was one of the most pleasurable dives I've been on. Chris Gauntlet, our dive master, gave a great lecture about the wreck, made sure we knew all of our safety measures then led the dive. With all of his experience and work with the Bermuda Regiment one might expect he could be judgmental; he was anything but - totally low key on everything except safety. Having Captain John along just made it that much more fun. These people love what they do and it's infectious. What a pleasure, what a treat.
