Description: The Frog & Onion Pub is Bermuda's most unique Pub. Housed in the mid 18th century Cooperage in the historic Royal Naval Dockyard. The menu features a selection of Traditional English style pub food, innovative entrees and seafood. Home to Dockyard Brewing Company, Bermuda's only brewery.

There are 5 of these all over Bermuda. We visited the one in the Dockyard. The restaurant is housed inside an 1800's stone building which gives it a sort of "castle/dungeon" feel to it. The alcoholic drinks are superb as are the entrees. Like everywhere else its expensive..be prepared to drop at least 100.00 for lunch (burgers are 15.00 each)

Visited for the beer, did not try the food. First ordered the flight. Typically I enjoy lighter craft beers with an IBU range of 25-60. My favorites are Belgian unfiltered white ales. I was surprised to thoroughly enjoy all but one (4 out of 5) of the beers from the flight! I found the lightest beer to be too dull for my taste. My favorite was the German Wheat ale, however even the porter --which I typically avoid-- was excellent. A great place for drinks! Flight was $12.95. Beers available in 50oz Big Ben, 23 oz ($12.95), and 16 oz (~$11) souvenir glasses (16 oz is a bottle with Frog and Onion sticker). A few dollars cheaper without the souvenir glass. Also have great cocktails, also available in souvenir glasses, for 10-30 dollars ($10 regular cocktails, $12.95 for 15 oz specialty cocktails, and #30 for their massive group/party size cocktails.) Loved the atmosphere and live music!

The Frog and Onion is convenient to the cruise ship dock and that is where their focus lies. The decor is fake and plastic, the staff inattentive, the gift shop tacky. They have beer. Bermuda has a lot more to offer than this - best avoided unless you are looking for something super convenient and 'sort of like home.'

Dear MondoCJP,

Whilst we take your comments to heart about our staff, unfortunately we do have to gently correct you on part of your review. You say that the "decor is fake and plastic" which we unfortunately have to dispute. Our decor is unabashedly good old stuff, with many of the items dating back centuries, not to mention that the Cooperage building itself which we are located in dates back to the founding of Dockyard in 1809 . If you wish verification please feel free to check with the Curator of the National Museum across the road from us, of which some of the items are actually on loan!

In regards to our gift shop, we are sorry that you felt it was tacky. We have been selling our branded merchandise since we opened 20 years ago, and we constantly get return visitors who proudly come in wearing the shirt they bought so many years ago, with a picture to add to our Wall of Fame. The always leave with a spanking new one to add to their collection.

We went to the Frog and onion for dinner and happy hour. We tried the local beer and ordered the nachos for appetizers (very good) We then got the burgers and fries- exactly what we needed after traveling all over bermuda. The staff was very good and the atmosphere was laid back. This was one of our favorites in Bermuda. The prices were not bad at all.
