Walking into the Frog and Onion felt like I had stepped back in time. The stone walls, stone archways, heavy wooden bar and dark ambiance felt like something out of Pirates of the Caribbean, but with TVs showing various sport venues on the wall.

It's a small pub with an open sitting area outside and a bar area inside. Once settled in, I ordered a beer flight of local beers although they had pretty creative mixed drink menu that competed for my attention. The beers were excellent, and ordered by flavor so I felt vindicated by my choice.

At the back of the bar is a little room that is filled with Frog and Onion merchandise, if you'd like to take a token of the pub home!

The Frog and Onion changed hands recently after 30 years. However, it hasn't changed at all. Service always good, pub grub excellent and well kept British beer and even local (which I thought I'd never see!). Bangers and Mash are the best in Bermuda.

One strangeness this visit - outside main cruise season - all the TVs were on AMERICAN football! Why? In previous visits, they were always on real football, as befits a real English pub. Just a detail, but odd.

By far the best pub I visited on Bermuda. The food is delicious, the beer selection outstanding (including some local brews made by their own island-based brewery), and the staff generally awesome. Hopefully you like soccer (yes, I'm an American) because the many TVs in the bar are set to various matches. Depending on how busy it is and who's behind the bar, the service can lag terribly. But both of my visits were memorable for good food and brews in a singular atmosphere.

Yes, the setting is as fun as the food and booze. The space was the Naval Dockyard's cooperage, and the huge fireplace depicted in the photos was used to heat the metal bands that held the barrels together. With the antique flags and nautical feeling, this pub was a blast just to sit in and soak up. The Dockyards is a hit-or-miss affair, especially offseason. But I went from one end of the island to the other just for lunch at the F&O.

Needs work: the WiFi. Very wonk, so be forewarned if you decide to update Facebook with pictures of the cool interior or your party having a great time. Otherwise, full steam ahead!

Located between the Royal Naval Dockyard and the Keep of the National Museum, this was the perfect lunch stop after a tour of the museum. Great pub decor with lots of old stonework, several rooms, and a large bar, it's set up to serve lots of people. Large TVs throughout the restaurant added to the sports pub atmosphere.
I had a tasty salad with grilled tuna and mango, and he had a turkey club on a baguette with slaw. Like most Bermuda restaurants, the prices were on the high side.
The touristy kitsch involved several silly signs throughout the pub, light-up mugs for the kids, and free souvenir glasses with the purchase of a special drink. A gift shop offered t-shirts and other items, although we didn't shop there. It all seemed aimed at the dockyard's target market, the cruise ship passenger.

Came here with my mom and friend when we were visiting on a cruise in may 2012. Love the atmosphere and decor. Service was fast and the good was pretty good. There was entertainment and someone was playing the keyboard and singing.the guy was hilarious! definitely made the dining experience. Will be back on my next trip!
