“Family Reunion”
Reviewed August 28, 2013

All 24 of my family members, ages 10 to 100 went to Bermuda for a Reunion, and the owners of Freeport were extremely kind and accommodating. They built a menu for us to really display the food of the island, they had fresh seafood appetizers that were phenomenal, and they just treated us extremely well overall.

“Day out with hubby”
Reviewed August 19, 2013

A nice area to sit outside if you don't want to be inside even though inside looks very nice. Good and friendly service and it was quick. Reasonable prices and food was good.

“Day out in Dockyard”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

A simple but very nice restaurant right at the entrance to Dockyard. Fish cakes were very good. Service was good too and reasonably priced.

“Good "affordable" option in the Dockyard area.”
Reviewed February 7, 2013

We found this place when searching on TripAdvisor, and with only 5 restaurants in the area, there was only so many choices for us in terms of a quick bite.

We sat outside to soak in the sun and also feed the chickens, which entertained my son throughout the whole meal. He was completely fascinated.

The restaurant is by the road on the way into the main part of the Dockyard. There is outdoor and indoor seating, and a separate area for take out orders. While we ate, we noticed quite a few people coming for take out, including bus drivers, which normally is a good sign.

We ordered the conch fritters, the fish and chips and fried shrimps. For the price, we thought the food was GREAT. The portions were a good size and the food was tasty. The conch fritters, like a previous poster mentioned, were awesome. We had been traumatized by awful conch fritters some years ago in the Bahamas and we were hoping that this time we would be surprised and indeed we were. We are now converts and will try conch fritters again in the future, haha.

My fried fish was flavorful and melt in your mouth. The fried shrimps were also fresh (as fresh as it can taste when fried). The shrimps came with fries (clearly frozen fries) and the fish came with mac n cheese (clearly boxed mac and cheese) but we honestly didn't expect much more since we weren't gourmet dining.

We decided to buy another order of fritters, a fish sandwich, a beef patty and curry goat to go. Again, good food but we felt the portions were slightly less? Not sure if that's just how they normally are with take out food. Also, we paid a 15% gratuity charge for take-out food, which we thought was a bit ridiculous? Not sure if this was a mistake or intentional.

Aside from the gratuity charge, we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food here.

For all of the things we bought (2 fritters, fried fish platter, fried shrimp platter, a Rum Swizzle, fish sandwich, beef patty and curry goat), we spent $120USD. Not too bad given the prices all over Bermuda.

“Cheaper option at Dockyard, but you get what you pay for”
Reviewed January 27, 2013

There are 5 restaurant options within walking distance of the Dockyard. Freeport has a dining room/ bar and also a takeout option. Most of it is fast food, with a few Caribbean dishes (curried goat, oxtail). The last time I ate there, I had a pizza and it was mediocre - clearly frozen dough and sauce. I walked out with a full meal and drink for $23, which by Bermuda standards is a steal, but as a rule I would prefer the slightly more expensive restaurants in the dockyard for a better meal.
