From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty. We were given a couple of choices of room selections due to availability, and found a lovely suite overlooking an agua marine bay. Romance oozes from every nook and cranny of this resort, yet it is not intimidating. We could have gone anywhere in Bermuda,, yet this one just seemed right. .
Keeping in mind, we have 2 children in college and having done the family vacation thing, value was a very important factor in our decision. We were not dissappointed. The food was excuisite and if there is a little something you want tweaked on the menu, they are more than happy to customize your meal. This resort was an awesome choice for us. What a treat to have a new found tranquility without the hustle and bustle of pool slides and all you can eat ice cream bars !
To be greeted by our dinner host each evening by name is just one of the niceities that Cambridges offers.
Lots of teas and swizzle parties if you choose, but if you are into simply reconnecting with your partner, this is the place. Love is most certianly in the air. Kudos to the management staff and crew at Cambridge. Susan and Carl Hinebaugh

Anyone choosing Cambridge Beaches as a vacation destination based solely on its 5 star rating may be disappointed. Although my husband and I found the setting picturesque and secluded, the grounds landscaped nicely and the atmosphere relaxing (except for the numerous loud boaters who anchored daily in Long Bay), in our opinion CB does NOT deserve its 5 star classification. Our deluxe waterview room's decor was tired and worn and we experienced a terrible ant problem in both our bathroom and coffee bar area. What was most aggravating though was the fact that we reported this in person to the reception desk immediately after checking in and nothing was done about it. During the course of our five day stay the problem persisted even though we reported it at least three additional times to various sources. We found the food to be marginal and the service at dinner in the Tamarisk Dining Room was sadly lacking. For my husband's birthday dinner we ordered wine to be served with our meal but, despite a reminder to our waiter, it never arrived. The service at Breezes was much better and the staff there was friendly. The spa gets the same lukewarm recommendation, though the spa staff was young and energetic. I suppose I should have taken my cue from the very first phone call I made to inquire about CB. The young woman who answered the phone was curt and bordered on being rude. However, the next time I phoned I had a lovely conversation with another lady and directed all further inquiries (both over the phone and via e-mail) to her without any other problems. We've traveled to quite a few islands (this was our second trip to Bermuda) and have stayed in a variety of nice hotels, both large and small. We will not recommend this resort primarily because, for the money, it is NOT a good value.

The resort is very beautiful, and the beach is quite nice with a gorgeous view. Depends on the cottage that you get, but we had a cottage with a very nice view. Staff is very friendly, and I believe this is the only place in Bermuda that has a sundeck with "clothing optional" facility. The brunch/breakfast buffet is nice because you can experience some of the local specialties. I did think that this place was a bit overrated, even by Bermuda standards. Didn't like the food too much, I would much rather go to the town or to nearby places and eat. (Saltrock grill, a short walking distance, is very good). The place is very far from town but close to Dockyards. Overall, I think it was a good experience because it is secluded and beautiful, but very pricey and not great food.

We had a wonderful week at Cambridge beaches. It ended a day early because of Hurricane Bill . I was our 5th year and we found everything in good shape. The views are breathtaking from most areas at the resort. The staff couldn't have been more wonderful from manager to food staff. If you want to have a private dinner on your patio or the beach ask for Roy to be your waiter. He does a fantastic job. Our suite was always perfectly clean. We ate breakfast on our patio . The food was hot and arrived in about 20 minutes. They really encouraged us to order a lot. We were on the MAP plan . Dinners were at Tamarisk and Breezes. You can't find a more beautiful place to eat. We ate outside at Tamarisk overlooking the marina area and at Breezes we sat down on the beach with our feet in the sand and watched the sunset. The food was very good. My husband loves seafood and they had a wonderful selection. The fish cowder is the best on the island. We rented a boat on two days . The hotel packed us a lunch that was more than we could eat. We found islands to eat on and then cruised around the island. It is the most peaceful place I have ever been and we have traveled all over the world. It is an old fashion resort and I guess from some of the reviews that some people are looking for a more modern resort where you have 2 or 3 people at you all the time treating you like royalty. Chambridge beaches is a place where you feel like you are staying at a your own cottage that you return to every year. Bill and Hillary Clinton where there last week when we were there , and they seemed to have a wonderful time.

In many respects Cambridge Beaches is perfect, the location, having beaches all around, and with most appartments having views of the sea, it makes for a great hideaway and chill out resort. The food was pretty good for a MAP plan, the main restaurant offering up more than reasonable food in the evenings, sometimes being excellent, though breakfast was typical low rent hotel buffet. I have never seen bacon that has never seeen a pig, all fat no meat ! The Shutters pasta restaurant had dire service, waiting 1 hour just to get a first drink and starter. Not the fault of the staff, but lack of staff.
The staff around the resort were very friendly, reception staff efficient but not enthusiastic.
Some comments on here suggest the resort is tired, and that is true in many respects, but then you can go to the false polish of a Vegas or Dubai and go to far the other way, and the plants and flowers that are nice and mature are beautiful and give a marvellous charm to the resort. But look behind this, and for the main, the room we had was clean though very tired, even if they have tried to cover over this with some later updates to bathroom tiling and telvsion. The gym equipment was well used and old, and not of a good standard.
The balance of the charm against the negatives would not be so bad if the resort was reasonably priced. Appreciating Bermuda is not a cheap location, the balance between cost and quality is not there, and people should consider other more recent resorts before deciding. Though avoid the classical hotels, as you will not get the charm and laid back nature of Bermuda that a villa will give.
I am not going to recommend the resort to friends, though I should add it depends what people want, as a hideaway, low stress chill out (money not an issue) it works, as a luxury resort, for the money it is wide of the mark.

The location is peaceful and beautiful ( $60 cab ride from airport). Non guests do come on small speedboats and dock in front of hotel and swim up to beach. At times, there were teenagers and kids thus negating the no kids policy at CB. There was also loud music coming from boats. Bring your Bose headphones! Beaches were great, although hotel was fully booked at one point and unless you went down at bkfst and placed some towels on chairs, you would not get chairs. Breakfast was great...nice buffet. Bar service was biggest complaint. The pool bar closes at 5! At that point if you want a drink, you must go to indoor bar. There are not even pool boys or waiters to take drink orders and bring drinks to you. Bartender told us we were in a recession and it was a cost thing. I would think 50 people in a pool to watch the sunset would order drinks and this would more than pay to keep the bar open past 5pm! There is also no room service past 10pm. Many eves, we returned to hotel post dinner and wanted to wait to order dessert and tea/drinks. Unfortunately, we learned our first night, no room service after 10, and no mini bar so if you are hungry, you are out of luck. The hotel should consider room service 24/7 like every other 4-5 star hotel, with items that do not require a chef (desserts, salads, drinks, sandwiches). I agree with other reviewers, staff not all professionals. Get rid of the not-outgoing reception staff and the teens supposed to be working the pool/beach. Convenient scooter rental on premises and water sports. We are a family of 2 adults and 20 and 17 yr old sons. Our suite was nicely decorated and accomodating for the 4 of us (King bed in BR and pull out and cot in LR). Cleanliness of room could be improved. One day our room was not even cleaned! Stairwells are dirty(dust and sand). CB...please change bar hours, add a minibar and 24 hr room service and tweak your staff to professionals only to fit a 4-5 star hotel and we will be back. We had a great time.

Cambridge Beaches, surely the best hotel cottage resort of its kind anywhere, offers a rare combination of supreme luxury, easy friendliness and serenity. The setting, a comfortable bay on one side of its little peninsula and a sweeping ocean view on the other, is uniquely Bermudian; pastel cottages against a background of colours and foliage and rich greenery of glorious extravagance. The food is great - I love the extended breakfast buffet - and the restaurant service provided largely by Indian and Nepalese staff is really wonderful. The waiters are so charming and helpful and efficient that they become friends. "You must come to Nepal." "I will," you say. I loved it, though Bermuda's mid-summer temperature - 85 every day - is too miuch for me. From now on I shall do it in the spring and fall. I am told that October is Heaven.
