Stayed for four nights in July in a villa facing the marina, very nice view!
Room service was delicious and service was prompt. Beds were comfortable and the room overall was nice, but could use some updating.
The room service attendants are very quick to come grab your plates when you're finished, which is good because Ants are a problem in the villas: if you leave anything out there will be ants all over it once you return.
My one negative of this hotel is how far it is from any restaurants or nightlife, but that's just my preference to be closer to the action. We spent a lot of money on cab fares between dinners out and the airport.
If you're looking for a quiet beach front vacation, I would recommend.

We spent one week here in August for our anniversary. It was our first trip to Bermuda. The resort location is stunningly beautiful, we felt the website photos didn't do it justice. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would go back. We liked being on the "quiet side" of the island as we were there to relax, but when we did want to explore other beaches on the island we found the buses were quite easy to use. Generally we waited 15-30 minutes for bus to arrive, so plan for that.

Every resort has its pros and cons, here were the ones we found:
Pros: The staff, especially the serving staff at the restaurants, were very helpful and attentive. The property is lovely and the beaches are amazing. Snorkeling is great right off the beaches, just head toward the sides of the beaches where you see the rocks or look for dark areas under the crystal clear water, which is very likely some gorgeous coral where many different kinds of fish make their homes. We snorkeled off of Turtle Cove everyday.

We liked the food at both Breezes & Tamerisk. Breezes is the perfect place to have a drink by the water, and no matter how hot it is there's always a refreshing breeze there. We ate at Shutters too, the food is about the same, but Breezes' location can't be beat. We were on the MAP dining plan, which did save us money because as others have noted, food is not cheap at Cambridge Beaches (or anywhere else on the island). The menu changes nightly at Tamerisk, so we didn't get bored with the food. Overall I'd say the food was not great, but it was consistently good and so was the service.

We opted to do the private dinner on the beach (Turtle Cove) the night of our anniversary. This was worth every penny and the highlight of our stay. It's a romantic, beautiful setting that you get to share alone. Our server, Joseph, was really wonderful, for example he told us just the right moment of the sunset for taking great photos and he took our picture at that time. One thing to keep in mind: The day of our scheduled dinner it rained at about 3 or 3:30. Our dinner was scheduled for 7. The front desk called us to cancel our dinner when it rained at 3:30, and we told them we did not want to cancel yet because the rain could still stop. We did not have the option of postponing our dinner because other couples has it reserved for other nights. The desk reluctantly agreed not to cancel our dinner and, sure enough, the rain cleared up and we were able to have our dinner. So the lesson here is don't let them cancel on you too early!

Cons: Although the staff at the front desk were friendly, they weren't able to help with some of the concerns we raised, nor did it appear to us they tried very hard. Our main complaint is that we requested that our Cambridge Suite be one directly on the water and on the ocean (west) side of the property. They offered us the Cedars Suite, which is on the ocean side of the resort but one of the farthest back from the water. We reminded staff of our request, and essentially learned that repeat guests get priority and so they saved all the other Suites (there were many) we would have preferred for guests coming in later, and usually for shorter visits than ours. While I'm sure if you're a repeat guest this is great, it means anyone new to the resort is at a big disadvantage regardless of how much you're paying (we surely
paid the same or more than
those repeat guests). They agreed to let us split our stay with half our time in Cedars, the other half in the Cove Suite. The Cove Suite was beautiful, perhaps a little older than Cedars but still very nice. The view, though, was priceless. We were right next to the water, an amazing view. Cedars was an extremely nice room, updated and comfortable. The view there was much farther from the water. If I was going back, I'd specifically ask for a suite by name, you're more likely to get it. Next time I'd ask for the Turtle Suite, the Westerly Suite, or any of the Suites on the same row that Cove was on. The marina side has a very pretty view too, but my strong preference was the ocean side.

Many people have mentioned there were insects in the rooms. Yes, there were tiny ants in both our rooms. The resort tries to keep them away, but it's tough in this climate. They didn't bother us much because we knew to expect this. They weren't all over the room, they were generally concentrated by
the door in Cove, and by the tub in Cedars.

Last "con" is that we found the housekeeping to be inconsistent. At Cove it was very good, they came to the room 2-3 times a day to refresh towels, make up the bed, turn
down at night, etc. At Cedars, housekeeping was not always there or would show up at odd, late hours in the day. One night they never showed up for turn-down at all, one day we were out for hours in the morning but they never came to make up the bed. I know this could come
across as a demanding expectation, but at these prices and given that we did have great housekeeping in one room
but not the other, we did find it disappointing.

Some reviewers have observed that during their trips, Cambridge Beaches only had an older crowd. This didn't matter to us, but I will mention that during our stay, the age groups were varied- we saw many couples younger than us, about our age (we're in our late 30s), and older than us.

Overall, though, we were very
happy that we chose
Cambridge Beaches and we would recommend it.

My wife and I had a great time at Cambridge Beaches! This is a perfect place to relax. We really loved Breezes beach and bar. It was nice and private. This is a great place for couples wanting some relaxation. They do not allow children younger then 16. Although the hotel is on the other end of the island from the airport, it really adds to the privacy of the hotel. You are very close to the dockyard, and easily can make it into Hamilton on the ferry.

Overall, the stay was amazing!

Room Tip: Although all the rooms are good, my suggestion is to ask for an updated room with ocean view.

Our family - wife and older daughters recently returned from a delightful vacation. We have not stopped raving about Cambridge Beaches. Without fail every member of their staff was friendly and helpful. The ground are beautiful with water views from every angle. Rooms are very spacious as are the well appointed bathrooms. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate with us so we did not get to try Breezes for dinner but the BBQ buffet at Tamerisk is a must. You know something is right when the restaurant has more locals than tourists. The daily buffet breakfast is also excellent with options for all tastes.
We fould the the complimentary shuttle to the dockyards very helpful. Hint - taxis from the Dockyard back to the resort at night can be a challenge.
All in all a wonderful experience, we will be back.

This is the perfect place to get away from it all. It is a beautiful resort set on one end of the island with excellent accommodation. Both restaurants Breezes and Tamarisk had very good service and excellent food. Who cared about the weather (there was a storm coming through) because we were there to relax and did so but we know this place is incredible when the sun is sparkling on the clear blue water. Would we go back? Would we recommend the resort? The answer to these questions is also clear - YES!

3.5 Stars.

Cambridge Beaches is a survivor. The great recession hit Bermuda hard with many resorts--competitors to Cambridge--closing. On this, our fourth visit, we found much of what makes Cambridge an ideal spot--the property, the beach, the peaceful atmosphere--intact. Although we found that many of the service issues which drove us to seek alternatives to Cambridge in the past remained (read previous review here: http://tinyurl.com/l4wq986). In truth, if the Pink Beach Club were still open we would still choose it over Cambridge even given improvements we experienced on this latest visit.

The positives: Cambridge has brought back dining on the beach at Breezes and the staff and food there is top notch. The breakfast buffet and afternoon tea are fantastic, and Cambridge has added food and beverage service to the main beach. The free boat ferry to Hamilton is gone, but the onsite scooter rentals, marina rentals and free shuttle to the Dockyard remain. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed with lovely ocean views.

The negatives:
The dress code for dinner is gone. That may be a sign of the times, but I never imagined that I'd see men in shorts and t-shirts, or jeans and flip-flops at dinner at the Tamarisk room which used to require a jacket and tie.

Service in the Tamarisk room is also scattered. The well-trained and senior staff is at Breezes, and Tamarisk doesn't quite have the rhythm of a fine dining service down. Food at Tamarisk is mixed, we had some wonderful meals there, but we also we served uncooked fish one evening only to have the exact same plates returned after asking for a refire.

WiFi is free, but the signal is so weak that you can only use it if you're standing by the front door of your room.

Housekeeping, which had previously been where Cambridge excelled, was the lowest point--instead of replacing towels, clean towels were left on our suitcase in the vestibule or in the sink on more than one occasion; if toilet paper was replaced, the wrapper was left in the sink; toilet was cleaned, but left with cleaning solution in it and lid/seat up; and dirty plates were left on the table for days till they were swarming with ants (NB: I put the plates on the table on the patio and left a note for housekeeping; the note was gone, but the plates were still there five days later when we checked out. Cambridge has admitted it struggles with insects as any tropical resort does. One idea to addressing the problem may be to encourage housekeeping to pick up plates with food remnants on them daily). Our room did receive an actual cleaning on one day near the end of our seven day visit--it was sparkling, but did also point out that the room hadn't really been cleaned before then.

The bellman never showed up on the day of our departure. After waiting for 15 minutes past when the bellman was supposed to meet us and past the time our taxi was set to arrive, we were forced to carry our suitcases to the main house ourselves to meet our taxi.

There is reason to hope--on our previous visit when we encountered troubles, the management was indifferent and when trying to resolve an overcharge on our bill, unreachable. Now under a new team, management responds quickly and sympathetically. We were refunded the cost of that dinner with the uncooked fish without any question and for the first time in four stays, our bill was accurate on check-out.
