Acutally, they used to say Stagger out, but now, it's Swagger out, I guess the insurance company stepped in!
Good food, good service, great Rum Swizzle, once the entertainment starts, expect to wait for waitstaff to attend to you.

Great going after the beach for a nice relaxing drink (alcoholic and non). The do lovely smoothies after a hot day down the beach and great cocktails.
We also had a meal with bermudan's we met whilst on holiday, it was fantastic I had the local rock fish (cooked to perfection and cheap too!)
He staff where lovely also

This is a small tourist attraction and the one close to the airport :)

This is an absolute must when visiting Bermuda. The Inn serves wonderful food, balcony dining in a casual environment. The nachos are to die for and all the dishes we've ever tried are very good. Don't forget the famous rum swizzle, no one does it better than Swizzle Inn.

Visit the gift shop for really cool clothes, hats, knick knacks. Give a shout out to the manager "Big Mon" while your there

Here's the thing about Swizzle Inn. If you're a tourist, you're probably only going to go there once, and you'll probably be drinking anyway so nothing will matter much. However, if you live here, like we do, both the food and the service is hit or miss.

We live up the street, so get takeout often enough. The problem is, depending on who's in the kitchen, things are ALWAYS different. When the pizza's good, it's REALLY good. But we get the same pizzas every time, my boyfriend gets the Swizzle Burger pizza, and I get a build your own vegetarian, and for some reason, rarely can anybody seem to manage to make a vegetarian pizza with extra pizza sauce properly.

Sometimes we get it, sometimes we don't. And they CHARGE 50 cents for extra sauce, when they don't even put it on half the time. Even though we always order the same items, the last time we were told "oh, we don't DO extra sauce on pizzas because it takes too long to cook". Um, okay, so why am I being charged for it.

Oh, and check your food before you leave if you're getting takeout because half the time we're charged for each individual vegetable, and it's missing something or other.

As for dining in, well - when the servers are on the ball, it's great. But out of about 20 times we've eaten in, the service has been noticeably good about 3 times. On 3 separate occasions we've been seated, or sat down, and been completely ignored by servers (including Carolyn the manager, and one of the other night managers) until we flag someone down.

If you actually manage to get someone to serve you, you'd better have a lot of patience & not be in a rush, because on average it'll take about 20 minutes to even get a drink. Plus, if you plan to have another one - order it when your first one comes because rarely, if ever, do servers come around and ask if you need anything else, or if things are okay.

We went for Oktoberfest last year, sat down, and waited about 40 minutes while servers galore whisked by, completely oblivious we were waiting. Finally, my bf went to ask for someone to come. Then they were out of their special beer. Mind you the chef who prepared the special menu for Oktoberfest did it very authentically, I'm half German and it was fabulous. However, that night, Sarah (the server) managed to spill a glass of wine all down my shirt. Nobody bothered to compensate us later in the bill.

Most of the food is pretty good, and the quirky decor and entertainment are kitschy. Not fancy, but unique. The entertainment is good. Ray is good with the crowd and the new guy (Bill?) is even better. Wish he was there permanently.

The good: Fried foods are good, the fresh Wahoo is amazing. Doreen is stellar, there's another older Bermudian lady with glasses who served us once who's amazing, but we rarely see her. Carolyn's a very efficient server. However, she's passed by us on a variety of occasions when we've been waiting to be served, and not asked us if we needed anything. I also wrote an e-mail once regarding service.

I was told it was reinforced with the servers to check in, check often - and that speed of service was discussed. I beg to differ, because most of the time we dine in we see multiple servers from multiple sections not even batting an eye while we sit there waiting for half an hour for service.

I've worked as a server, bartender and manager of numerous bars/restaurants, pubs and even a resort. What's clear for the most part is that a genuine interest in customers and their dining experience is rare. I'm inclined to believe that it's mainly due to the fact that they rely on the knowledge that over 95% of customers are tourists, and will most likely never return.

We really do like meeting up with friends there or going for a bite and some drinks, I just really wish they could get it together with speed of service, following up and consistency in food orders. We've been to most restaurants on the island, and busier places (House of India, for example) are consistently good in service and food, why can't Swizzle?

They could utilize their historical status and guaranteed visits by tourists for the greater good, if management made a major effort to train new and old staff appropriately, and followed up on customer service. Oh well, probably not going to happen.
