“A Great And Historic Restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2014

I have been traveling to Bermuda for 20 years now and am set to return again in May 2014. From the very first time I visited Bermuda, my friends and I went to Tom Moore's Tavern In Harrington Sound for dinner. The restaurant has one of the best menus and comfortable dining rooms I have ever experienced. I believe it is also the oldest restaurant in Bermuda, founded in 1659 and located just before you get to the bridge that takes you around to St. George's. The menu is fantastic, with my personal favorite being roasted quail with vegetables and side dishes. The wine selection is great, as is the dessert menu, which boasts a fresh Chocolate Souffle that is out of this world! Just be certain to order it early as it takes 20 minutes to prepare. The Director is a great guy named Bruno Fiocca, who has been there every time I've visited. He and his entire staff go out of their way to make certain your dining experience is the best. The dining room itself is very cozy, with a fireplace and is a perfect setting for a fabulous dining experience. I would recommend Tom Moore's Tavern to anyone and everyone who visits Bermuda. Not to be missed!

“Musty and Outdated”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 4, 2014

Based on a friendly cab driver's recommendation, and expecting that dinner in a "Tavern" would be a pleasant, relaxed and reasonably casual meal...we had dinner here recently between Christmas and the New Year. As referenced in another review, the Christmas Tree was beautiful...but that's as good as it gets.
Firstly, the atmosphere is as "non-Tavernish" as you can get - it's stuffy, formal and stuck in a time warp right out of the 1970's. Aside from that, the place smells...no, it stinks...like an old tweed jacket that was left out in the rain. Clearly there is mildew here that has never been dealt with.
The food is totally uninspiring, pretentiously "Euro", excessively biased by garlic and based in table-side traditions that go back to the 1600's, just like the building itself. Our waiter pushed crepes suzette and Irish coffee ad nauseam to the entire room until one couple finally succumbed - so he could put on his Sterno show.
The Maître D is a stuffed shirt who flaunts effusive greetings that thinly mask his underlying arrogance. If you aren't dressed to his (unpublished) expectations...he'll let you in, but look down his nose at you throughout your meal.
Topped by a ludicrously pricy wine list (for a 'Tavern')...this place should just stay off your Bermuda dining card.

“Perfect Everything!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2014

Surprised my Mom for her Birthday and this was easily one of the best meals ever in Bermuda. The staff was top notch and Christmas tree was one of the best looking ones this year. Highly recommend this place to visitors as it is a unique experience when visiting the island and not as expensive as other restaurants of the same caliber.

“Great setting and great food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 29, 2013

We had a small group dinner at Tom Moore's and began the evening on their waterside terrace with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. The setting was intimate and picturesque. The dinner that followed was served professionally and was delicious. We dressed up for the occasion and were glad we did. Everything was so pristine and pleasant.
