“Great fish & chips”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 17, 2013

In the heart of " Old Town Ladner " & run by a long time local family. The fish is fresh with a very light non greasy batter, the chips are ok but I prefer larger chips & not small bits. Great for take out as seating is very limited. Enjoy :)

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 20, 2013

It has been several years since Ladner's Uncle Herbert's fish and chip shop closed.
Enter centre stage Chung's Fish and Chips.
Fish can be can be pan fried or deep fried, home gown, home cut Kennebec fries.
Hard working delightful owners, MaxwellWilliams china all make for a fine dining experience .

“Home Town Good Eats”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 21, 2013 via mobile

The Chungs are a Ladner tradition. Try to find someone from Ladner that hasn't bought fresh fish from them or bought a Xmas tree from their lot across from the fast food place.
And now a 3rd generation of the family is putting down roots ( at least in the business sense) in the heart of the old village of Ladner. It's great news for the town.
I can only review the halibut and chips to go, since that's all I've tried so far. I have no complaints at all, the fish is a good size, the batter is light and tasty, the chips big and well fried and the coleslaw has just the right balance between vinegar and sauce.
I would write more but I'm on my way out for my 4 pick up order in the last 3 months.
A great place to include in anyone's walk about visit to old Ladner. Sure to be packed during Ladner Village market days and during Tour de Delta.

“Good Old Fashioned Take-out”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 16, 2013

Wrapped in newspaper (without the print) and everything!

The quality is usually very good, although occasionally I have been a little dissapointed (over cooked or slightly 'off' piece of fish, but usually just on one part of the overall piece).
The batter is enough while still letting the fish shine through, the chips are quite tasty and the prices are reasonable. The staff is friendly and unless it's a crazy night your order is usually ready pretty quick. Quite happy to have them in town when I crave fish and chips!
Just keep in mind that (and it's not their fault) your chips will be a little soggy and the batter on the bottom of the fish too, from the steam and a little grease etc if you take it home. Try to be slightly early and grab your food as soon as it's ready to go to avoid too much sogginess, or eat in (it's about the food, not the decor). They do wrap the fish and chips separate to try to stop this as much as possible, but taking food to go is never as good as fresh on a plate.
