Our family spent six days and five nights at REO. My wife glamped, I rafted four days, rested one and the boys rafted all five days. We were offered other adventures, but even our seventeen year old couldn’t accept anything more.

Brian and Karen are too accommodating. They upgraded our tent where my wife loved the chest of drawers and shaded porch overlooking the river. Brian took us on an extra special adventure to a remote river and Karen invited my wife to eat with her family and visiting friends because we were getting back late.

On the river every day was different. We had different guides who attacked and played in the river with their unique style. The boys went on an extra guide training one afternoon. We watched Brian bump his daughter into the water to the delight and screams of her fifteen friends and sister. And the last day Brian took us through Rose Garden and Meat Grinder which had been out of bounds due to high water and timber. He then took one son and the training guides down to the pull-out at the camp to end their training and our rafting adventures.

The professional cooks made tasty, hearty meals shared by all the staff and guests alike. I was concerned when the cooks were off but the staff and their friends kept the quality, quantity, and taste to a high standard. Besides a birthday cake with a gaggle of girls, on our last night we shared a roast beef dinner putting me over-the-top.

Our family can’t say enough about the people, the place, and the trip. I recommend making your visit more than a day trip. The longer you stay, the more you will get back.

Room Tip: We stayed in a cabin-tent right on the river. You can see the white corner in the photo. The higher...

The staff at REO continues to be excellent. On this trip our guide was a Kiwi named Mike who was very skilled and friendly. The kitchen staff went out of their way to accommodate our special needs. Since I was last up in 2008 the resort has obviously been undergoing continual improvement. New bathrooms, additional tent cabins, added stuff to do (zipline) and a new sandy beach.

The road on this trip was good - enough that I wasn't that worried about being on a street motorcycle - but it does vary so you should ask when you make your booking.

From my experience I would definitely not recommend this company for your river rafting trip. They seems incredibly disorganized.

My husband and I booked a half day trip for our anniversary, paid for it in full almost a month in advance. They called a week before the trip to reschedule us, no big deal - things happen.

Then they called us late afternoon the day before our scheduled trip (for the next morning) to cancel it completely. Apparently they didn't have enough people to run the trip despite the fact that it had been pre-booked, payed for and already rescheduled once.

We had a hotel booked, car booked specifically for this trip. We couldn't book with another rafting company due to the extremely short notice they gave us. Very disappointed and would never book with them again.

Big THANK YOU to everyone at Reo Rafting for making this one of my most memorable birthday presents ever!! Everyone was really friendly and inviting, great food, comfortable cabins/tents, stunning scenery. Guides were full of energy and enthusiasm, making us laugh to help settle our nerves before launching into the rapids - woo hoo!! What a ride!! Just the best!! Relax in the hot tub after, BYOB to enjoy with great food, awesome live music, and campfires to relax by... Can't wait to come back again with more friends!!

Four of us visited the REO Rafting Resort, three of us first timers and one of us going for a second raft. We plugged 'North Bend' into the Sat Nav and drove to REO from Whistler over the course of 4 hours. Upon arriving at North Bend we dug out driving instructions from the website but quickly found road signs which led us the rest of the way. The road was a little rough at times, so just make sure you've got some good tires on and your suspension is in good working order!

The staff were very friendly from the time we arrived to the moment we left. I get the impression that the crew change year on year, apart from the owners and their family, but I can definitely say that they've found some really friendly and supportive staff this year (2013). Our rafting tour (Mike) was great fun, very encouraging and got us to socialize well with the other people on our raft who we didn't previously know.

We paid for lunch and had home-made pizza and salad which were actually really good. After wet-suiting up you get driven up the river to the lake where the experience starts. You first get to know the raft and the commands you'll need for the day. After a bit of practice you can optionally go for a swim and see what it's like to dunk in the river and climb back in the raft. We all did this and it was good to know what it would be like in case it happened 'for real'. From this point on, we had an absolutely brilliant 2-3 hours of rafting down the river. We had a lot of fun along the way but I always felt that the situation was well managed and under control. Over all, it was a very enjoyable day and I would highly recommend it to anyone!

Along the ride one of the crew was taking photos from the shore. At the end of the day you can choose to purchase a DVD full of images for $20+10 for each person in your group (so we paid $60). While this sounds like a lot to start with, it's actually a bargain. We got over 100 photos of our adventure so that we could pick the best for printing and uploading to the web. Much better than paying $15 for a single printed photo at most places like this.

Side Note: As someone who wears 'XL' clothing from the store (not massive, but big) I was a little concerned about a couple of things. If you're in the same position, then there's nothing to be worried about. They had wet-suits available that went one size bigger than the size I needed and there were no problems getting back into the raft after our swim. Sure, it was a tad more work than some of the others had to face, but one 'regular-sized' person in our group struggled a lot more than I did to get back into the raft!

Just wanted to say how much we enjoyed our time with REO. We brought a team of Athletes from Rocky Point Crossfit and all had an amazing time. Everyone was extremely friendly and professional and the landscape was impeccable.

A short video of our trip can be found on our website at http://rockypointcrossfit.ca/

Can't say much more than everyone else here. Probably one of the best experiences I have ever had. The 3 hour drive to the resort is beautiful and when I got to REO I didnt want to leave!!! Had a blast hanging around the campfire, staring at the stars and listening to the guitar player they hired. Can't wait to go back this year! Professionally guided rafting trip and felt safe the whole time. Thanks to the owner Bryan for creating such a unique summer adventure!

You will need: a flashlight, clothes for warm and cool weather, flip flops
