If your work takes you to this suburb on outskirts of Madrid, the AC Hotel San Sebastian de los Reyes is a good bet. A sleek, modernist oasis facing the back of a huge shopping plaza filled with big box stores, it has a lot more style than you would expect. Decor is black and white with plenty of glass and stone, very modern minimalist. But the substance of the place, what you are really paying for, is lacking. My largest complaint has to do with the insulation of the rooms. The walls are paper thin so you can hear everything, and I mean everything, people are doing in the room next to you. It's like having a roommate. When he/she gets up in the morning, takes a shower, talks on the phone - you'll know it. And the heavy doors on the rooms are incredibly loud so you know for sure when people on your floor are coming and going from the loud slams. The hotel has three floors and two small, slow elevators, so be prepared to wait. The breakfasts is bread, cold cuts, and fruit - no hot food. Coffee is good though. As a place to just rest your head while on a business trip this hotel hits the mark, but there is no other reason to stay there. Oh, and the internet costs 12 EUR for 24 hours.
