My wife & I arrived @ the ranch May 1 & left May 7. Although we got there late, all our paperwork & cabin key were in the after-hours box. We rented a Kamp Kabin with a queen bed, a very comfortable bed I might add. The staff was wonderful & service great. We never had to ask for anything that we needed. The room was very clean and comfortable. The view from our Kabin was great, especially @ sunrise & sunset. The food was top-notch @ the grill. This was my wife's first trip on the bike to this part of Texas. The ranch location is right in the middle of some of the best motorcycle roads in the state. The only drawback was that the grill is closed the first part of the week. Thanks to all the staff, especially Kelly & "Pete". Scott & Thresa Smith - Lufkin, Texas

Room Tip: Great view @ the Kabins across from store.

We have wanted to stay here for quite some time and finally got the chance. It was absolutely perfect for what we needed. Riding motorcycles from Houston to Medina is a bit of a trip, but ending at Koyote Ranch was well worth the ride. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the cabin we stayed in was clean beyond all expectations, and so cute. We were on the bottom side of the resort area, with a lake right outside our cabin. With deer feeders located throughout the propery, we saw about 3 dozen deer while sitting on our front porch. The fish fry on Friday night was very good, and the other meals we had there were equally as good. The band on Saturday night was great. They are priced well for the area and have everything you need on location, even gas. The only thing they were very high on was ice. The cabin had a small refrigerator but no ice. A bag of ice will cost you $10.00, but there is nowhere to put it. We filled up a styrofoam cup and called it a day. We went there to ride the Three Twisted Sisters, or the 100 mile loop. Great location to start and finish the ride, which my the way is like a 100 mile amusement ride! The fun just never stopped. We will definitely go back.

Great place for motorcycle travelers, great cabins, very clean, nice family enviorment, little expensive but was worth the extra money, the employees were very helpfull to any questions or concerns we had and the food from the grill was awsome, try the pizza and the breakfast buffett well worth the money, only neg i have on this place is if u have a heavy bike such as the harley electra glide ultra calssic, the drive way and all the roads r covered in gravel so be carefull ,

I found Koyote Ranch on the internet because Hurricane Rita was approaching and we decided to leave the Houston area. We originally were looking for a hotel but there was no availability anywhere I checked. Getting ther was a nightmare (a usuall 4hr drive from Houston to KR took us 27 hrs) But once we arrived it was awesome, we turned it into a Hurrication and our intended 3 day escape turned into a 6 day vacation. The staff is super friendly, beautiful location, its just a great place to sit back relax and enjoy your surroundings and the star gazing at night is unbelievable. We have been back 3 times since Hurricane Rita and I'm ready to plan another another trip up there. (maybe Spring Break)

We rented one of the Get Away Cabins. The cabins were neat and clean. The down stairs bedroom had a double bed which had to be pushed against the wall in order to get the door open. With two people in the bed, one had to crawl over the other to get in and out. The porch was nice but we couldn't find the rockers we saw in the pictures. The Friday night fish fry left a lot to be desired. The high speed internet was extra. For $170. a night neither my wife or I felt that our money was well spent.

Wanted to find a biker friendly area to stay at and found that at Koyote Ranch. When we first arrived the mini blinds on the cabin were down, but the handy man the hubby is they were up in no time.Friendly staff, clean rooms.
Sitting on the porch, as the sun went down was awesome.
May was the best time to see all the wildflowwers in full bloom.
Bury my ashes in the Hill Country!
I would highhly recommend!
We are planning to return this year, see ya there!

We had originally planned the Guad. River Ranch but one comedy of errors after another followed by horrid reviews made us change our mind at last minute. I remembered that some friends from long ago (20 years) had moved to the Hill Country and opened up a Ranch/B&B in Medina, just west of of where we were going to stay originally. We booked at Koyote Ranch. check out their site at (--)(with a K). We were not surprised at how clean it was and how tastefully it was done and how well kept. The owners had good taste when they were in Dallas and that was carried over. We had two families and during the week in fall break. almost had the place to ourselves. we had a blast. brought some yard games, did some fishing in the tanks on the property, shopped in the store (great wine selection if you can imagine). They cater to bikers (I say that in a positive way, more of the yuppie bikers) and support the Medina Children's home nearby. They have RV hookups, tents, bring your own tent, a 5000 foot B&B home you can rent and multiple cabins of all sizes. the cabins are nicely equipped, very clean and very functional. The Mercantile store is nicely equipped although better I think when traffic is heavier. The place is also beautifully landscaped, manicured, watered, very nice. they had gas pumps too, a beer garden w/shuffleboard and horseshoes although it was closed during the week when we were there. The owners came by daily and checked on us to see how things were. They have a restaurant on the premise too where we bought some rotiss. chickens for dinner and had a good breakfast. We highly recommend the place. We will go back for sure, in fact we sent a friend of ours that very week. Check it out, tell them Julie sent you.

  • Liked — very very very clean
  • Disliked — would have loved a screened porch but loved the porch on the cabins.
