I stayed in the Madrid Norte hotel for the three nights leading upto my wedding. I was expecting a very basic, budget hotel. What I found was an extremely modern, roomy and airy, very comfortable hotel. I am a real hater of noise in hotels, but I can honestly say I didn't hear a single sound the entire time. Room and hotel have all the amenities needed to make for a comfortable stay. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough, it was a wonderful surprise.

Stayed here for a couple of nights on business (I don't think there can be any other reason to be in this purpose-built business area). Rooms are very sleek and stylish but the hotel is without character and not particularly friendly.
The buffet breakfast offers an excellent choice but at 13 euro so it should. I'd only suggest taking it if you're very hungry ! The waiters in the breakfast room were very poor - even when it was nearly deserted they had to be summoned to bring coffee after several minutes of waitin in vain.
The hotel also tried to charge me for breakfast on departure despite the fact my booking included it, a fact that I had reconfirmed with Reception during my stay. Beware !

well we are here at the moment. 12/28 - 1/4.
the taxi ride from Terminal1 to the hotel was 36euro ($54). a bit expensive.

when i made the reservation with travelocity they had it marked as in the city, but its about an hour from the heart of downtown. there is a 15/20 min. walk to the subway station, and then a two train ride to the city. this ride also needs an extra ticket because its out of the regular subway route.
the hotel is VERY ultra modern. when we arrived (10am) the room was ready and we were checked in. the desk clerk already knew my name. we may have been the only ones checking in that day. the place is empty. i have not seen any other guest. i heard them, the walls are paper thin. i was able to hear a kid, not in the next room but across the hall in the room. as soon as we got in the room i removed the bed cover and put it in the closet. that night i called down to the front desk to ask for more pillows and a blanket, the bed only had a sheet. the clerk brought up a mattres cover. i said this is not a blanket. she said we don't have blankets. 10 min. later two brand new blankets were brought up. we think they went and bought them.

we find ourselves clicking every light switch to figure out what is for what. the window shade is two parts. a "black out" and a sheer. unfortunately they roll up and down and they do not cover the whole window which means the "black out" still lets in light.

when we checked in i asked about the roof top patio and gym. we were told "they are only open during the summer", which is too bad. its not that cold and would be nice to sit up there and relax outside. i would. i think they could put a couple of heaters a couple of tv's and it would be great to get out of the room for a bit and not have to hang in the lobby.

the room is very small. and only has one small flat panel tv. there is sound from the tv in the bathroom but no tv. we asked for a room with two queens or a king. the biggest bed they have that is not a "suite" is a single queen. i asked a second time just in case. the bed is in the middle of the room and the back of the headboard is the desk. so the lights over the desk are the same lights over the bed. so if your traveling with someone and they want to sleep either you work in the dark or they "sleep" with the lights on. its better to have the desk area away from the bed.

modern takes place of sensibility here. if you dont want to go to the city to much and your by yourself it probably not that bad.
we are here for a few more days i'll check back in for any updates.

I stayed for two nights from 18-20 June 2008.

The Hotel is in the business district of Alcobendas, about a 15 minute (16 Euro) taxi ride from the Airport. It is about 10 minutes walk from Metro Station "La Moraleja".

This is an ultra-modern hotel, of which there seem to be quite a few in Spain. The interior decor is mainly dark-wood, and the rooms have a very funky configuration, with both the beds and the work-desk being back to back in the centre of the room, rather than against the walls. It sounds odd, but it works extremely well! Free cable broadband in the room was provided.

Bathrooms are very well-appointed, with an awesome amount hot-water coming out of the shower! Seperate bath and toilet cubicle are good features. The rooms are very nicely lit, with lots of concealed low-voltage lights.

On the roof of the building is a very appealing terrace bar, with lots of shaded seating. Perfect for a evening cocktail!

Breakfast buffet is above average, with a very good choice of Spanish foods.

In summary; a very nice modern hotel, to which I will certainly return when I need to be in Alcobendas on business in future.

Stayed there for a week during a training course at a nearby office complex. The hotel is in a modern style with a lot of dark wood and stone. It's located at a four lane street with a lot of traffic, but the rooms (even with a construction site next to the hotel!!) are very quiet. The room was clean but had a rather cold feeling because of the design. The A/C worked perfectly and you could open the window.

I had a room on the 4th floor and a great view over the area, especially at night when it was dark! The very best about the room was the bathroom with a tub *and* a shower, the later with an enormous shower-head. The towels got changed every day, even they have a sign telling you they only change them if put in the bathtub.

The staff was friendly and helpful.

The hotel is located in a suburban area/business district near Madrid and can be reached from the airport in about 20 minutes. There is a large shopping mall near the hotel, which can be reached by foot in about 15 minutes - be prepared to cross a four lane street with a lot of traffic or add another 5 minutes. If you take a taxi it costs you about 10 EUR.

The hotel offers free Internet, but you have to use the network socket at the desk and not the wireless access (which will cost you a lot). If you're looking for the phone, it's at the head of your bed.

In overall it was a nice stay for a business trip, but I wouldn't book it for a weekend trip to Madrid.

This hotel is pretty new, and the modern design of the interior and the rooms is very nice. The rooms are large and clean. Breakfast is average given it's a 4 star. What's missing is a kind of warm atmosphere, it's a bit too cold and some more colors or plants could help.

But here's the killer. Bring your spanish with you, the staff speaks very very poor english or quite often no english at all. The hotel also needs a serious manager and a team of supervisors, everything seems to be quite relaxed (I'm not going to say chaos, as our stay was quite OK, but there's a clear lack of leadership). When we arrived it took the receptionist 10 mins each to check us in (he was alone), didn't know where to click on his PC, etc. The barman (there's no real bar but a really nice lounge area) was quite OK, but half of what was on the drink list he didn't have. The staff at breakfast didn't even understand room numbers (digits like 1-0-1) in english...

We had the feeling the guys just started, didn't get a training, and maybe never worked in the hotel industry.

The hotel is located a good 15-20 mins from downtown Madrid (20-30EUR by taxi). If you want to go to town avoid peak hours as there is quite some traffic (17h-20h).
