I stayed in this hotel as part of a group of professionals who were attending a conference in the center of Alcala de Henares. First the positives: the hotel is right across the street from a bus stop that will take you into Madrid within about 25 minutes. The bus leaves every 15 minutes or so and is comfortable and affordable. The hotel is one block from a mercado, but it is a very basic store -- sort of an Aldi, if that is a brand with which you might be familiar. The double room we stayed in was small, but the bathroom was top notch, which is very important to me. Now for the negatives: first, the wifi never worked. Never. The people at the front desk were more than happy to charge me 8 euros a day for a service that they knew really just was not working. I chose this hotel b/c of the wifi availability, so it was really frustrating not to be able to use it. Second, the beds were, by far, the least comfortable I have slept on -- and I had my first ever back pain, which was immediately alleviated when I moved on to Belgium and was able to sleep in a different bed. Also, the linens were a bit tatty, and in general, the hotel was out of the way of nightlife -- it was within walking distance, to be sure, but I would recommend that you stay nearer the town center. Bottom line: This hotel would do for a night, but there are better alternatives in the town center.
