The hotel is placed in a nice house. However, most room are located in a new wing that doesn't have the charm of the old wing, which seems to be more for suite rooms.

Our experience in general was good although we were a bit disappointed being in the new wing of the hotel, which felt a bit soulless.

Reception was OK but it seemed to be placed in a way not very accessible or inviting. They were not proactive at all but they responded when asked.

The patio, the nicest part of the building, was a passing area at that time, a pity because it would be nice to be used for a better purpose.

The continental breakfast that was included in the price was not standard with other continental breakfasts. It had no proteins and you needed to have something else afterwards.

Our package included a one-hour stay in the spa. The spa is small and no more than 6 people were allowed, which was nice. It is very simple but for one hour is fine. There was a guy using the Scottish shower that started shouting for obvious reasons and later went to the sauna. After a while, someone from the massage department came to ask if we were going for a massage. Once we said no, she started telling us off about the shouting. We told her there were six people there and we didn't know why she was talking to us. She was a bit rude.

Regarding the room, my major complaint, apart from a small detail, is related to the light switches. The ones on my side of the bed could turn off the light of the bathroom but they could not turn it on. Weird. Since they were also the buttons to lift or lower the blind, it was very easy to start moving the blind when trying to turn on/off a light. Also, the ones on my side moved the blind by half an inch. What for? On the contrary, the switches on the other side of the bed would move the blind totally up or down with no possibility of stopping. It felt like a Blake Edwards film whenever we tried to turn on/off any light. To top things up, the shower had the shower controls almost outside the shower but you didn't know which one was the right one as there was no signal. As a consequence, if you were unlucky to turn on the one in the middle, a jet of water would hit you and wet the whole room, as the hand shower was pointing towards the end of the bathroom. The water was cold so it was funny but annoying.

If I come back to Almagro I will probably give it a try to either El Parador or another hotel with more historical personality, even if it's not so cool, as well as with more attention to detail.

Our Family stayed at this wonderful place in Almagro. Quite with nice colonial style with traditional decorations, including a new modern part. Very good service, large and new rooms, best breakfast in town and very close to the "Plaza". We also tried the SPA, which has a perfect atmosphere. Just go there.

This hotel is located about 10-minute walk from the Plaza Major and there is ample parking on the street. Almagro is a lovely town and made an excellent stop on our way down to Granada. We were planning to stay only one night but decided to stay a second night. The hotel is very nice inside, with a historical part and a modern addition. We had a room in the modern part. It was very nice, luxurious and bright. Not being from the high tech generation we found some of the lighting and automated curtain system confusing to operate. The wifi was good and reliable. We did not eat at the hotel so cannot comment on the food. Staff members were courteous and helpful, and gave us good tips for places to eat.

A charming hotel in the middle of nowhere. Interesting little town and very good and easy roads to get there from Madrid. Room was quaint and staff hospitable with good suggestions for evening meal. Would recommend. Price about 90 euros bed and breakfast.

Should you be near to Almagro following the adventures of Don Quixote - or - like ourselves ... en-route from the southern coast via Córdoba to Madrid. And you've popped a pin in the map for a place to stay ...

... Well, oh my, what a pin!

This hotel is an absolute must.

The exterior belies what is inside - in fact you may just walk past. This renovated building has an old wing and an extremely modern wing. We were in the modern part in, I think, in a basic room which was, in my opinion, more that basic. Very stylish and sleek but not overly minimal.

Very comfy bed and pillows provided a slumber-filled nights sleep. The invigorating shower certainly wakes you up for the day ahead. We opted for breakfast which is great value and provided enough sustenance for the whole day.

Service from checking in and throughout was swift and courteous.

As I've said if you are chasing Don Quixote (or not) this hotel is an absolute must.
