Wonderful Cool Boutique Hotel. 5 min walk from Private Beach (entrance was expensive at weekend). In residential area, so not much around apart from a few restaurants. Area was expensive to eat compared to Athens. Half hour by taxi to centre of Athens for sightseeing. We went to relax for four nights in luxury with a day in Athens to sightsee - which is certainly what we got. Lovely pool area - the staff were brilliant, rooms were gorgeous. Would recommend this hotel - but not if on a tight budget.

While too short, we had a wonderful time at the Margi. The hotel is ideally located close to the see. All the staff is very dedicated and very friendly. We were lucky enough to stay in the VIP suite, an amazing appartement with a large terrasse overlooking the see and the trees. The swimmingpool is small but very cozy and benefit from a great bar. Definitely a place to stay with a good balance price/quality. One single regret: not to have had enough time to try the Spa. Next time for sure!

Room Tip: Try to get the VIP suite: Breath taking view

Situated near the beach in a quiet neighborhood. Good restaurants nearby. We had a room facing the pine trees, which was wonderful. Avoid rooms facing the pool if you like it quiet. Good gym and good breakfast. Wifi is free but very unstable/slow. The pool area is nice but the music too loud. A general problem in many hotels. I think the staff like the music louder than the guests? We asked for it to be lowered which lasted 15 min. The staff is friendly though. The whole area is nice.

My wife and i stayed here for seven nights from august 2nd 2013. we were looked after fabulously and felt so relaxed here. The pool area is quite small but has an intimate and chill out vibe.Nearby Ester beach is well worth visiting during the day ,however it is expensive (charges double at weekends (23 Euros!) .Breakfast is good ,service polite no rush(served late till 11). Sheets and towels changed daily .

Room Tip: higher the better

Have been staying here for 20 plus years maybe more. We have seen this hotel evolve from a great fun place into a mature version of a sophisticated family friendly hotel with a nice pool area. Nice food and great breakfast buffet. The rooms are not huge but are clean with good bathrooms and most have balconies with at least a side view of the sea. The staff is very hardworking and friendly. Concierge services are personalized where they sit down with you in the lobby and get what you need. On site valet parking. The best selection of TV channels I've seen in any foreign country. The bar is a fun place at times and very nice crowd at night with soft/recognizable music. In the winter the indoor bar is cozy. Service is excellent. This hotel is offered thru many travel sites but I highly recommend that you book directly on your own with reservations and that way you introduce yourself. This has always been a family run business and you get treated like family. If you think a luxury hotel has to be measured against four seasons standards, I can tell you that there is a lot of hype in any name.

Room Tip: Ask for front facing rooms, both tub rooms are good, if available

We booked the Margi for our honeymoon to relax for a few days before going into Athens. When my husband looked for hotels, the pictures and description of the property piqued his interest because we were looking for an amazing hotel with beautiful views- what we received was poor customer service and a view of the pool and building next door.

When we first arrived, we were excited to find that they had bumped up our reservation (before we knew we were charged for it...); since we were early we went to the pool & relaxed. When we got to our room, there was champagne and strawberries waiting; we had called down to let them know we had a room so we could get our luggage and was surprised to find that they were very apologetic about not having them already up there so they sent 2 beers on the house- we were impressed- but that was the end of the "great customer service." The hotel views were not what is listed on the website- there is not many rooms that face the water and the hotel is not on the water and not as peaceful as it looks. Especially if your room faces anywhere near the pool- which likes to be very busy and loud after 2am.

First off, they had breakfast request door handle forms that we had to fill out for breakfast if we wanted it- out of the 5 days we were there, we only received breakfast 2 times. When we asked the front desk after the first time (we thought we did something wrong so we asked to make sure and we had done what we were supposed to), they apologized. We called after the second missed breakfast and they said that it was our responsiblity to make sure it was received. After letting them know we put it on the door in the morning and it was gone by the afternoon- they said we should be calling down to food service to ensure our names were on the list and they hung up.

Secondly, we went down to the restaurant/bar/pool area for dinner one night and we were told that it was their grand opening (news to us!) and that her tables (all 30/35 of them) were going to be filled in the next 10 minutes so she couldn't seat us. We went somewhere else that night but made reservations for the next evening to give them another chance. (when we got back that night, the restuarant area was not busy until around midnight). The next night we were seated and were ignored nearly all evening by waitstaff and the hostess- our water glasses and wine were left empty most of the night but the older couple next to us were doted over. They passed us quite a few times, glanced at our table and walked away. Again, I noticed that people had come in to be seated and the hostess told them her tables were going to be filled and she couldn't seat them (we were there for 2 hours and only 4 tables were taken the whole time- I've worked years in a restaurant and know that she had no idea what she was doing). So all in all, that experience was not worth the trouble and aggravation.

Furthermore, we were not impressed with their attitudes towards us. We are in our 20's and it seemed like we weren't worth their time. We were looked at like we didn't belong in such a high class establishment; however, both of us have our doctorates and are highly educated. It was rude and disrespectful to be disregarded and ignored because we weren't dressed in suits; we were treated like we weren't worth the time or effort. We will never stay in a hotel of this brand- their staff should be addressed and it may be worthwhile that they look at the environment that they have created.

Room Tip: Our friends couldn't get a hotel with us so they stayed at the Westin, which is up the road and...

Good points: Very nice poolside bar, rooms very clean and minimal noise, staff were helpful, decent selection at breakfast.
Other points: children jumping in the pool = splashy splashy. The bar is a tad expensive for what it is but this is the general trend in Vouliagmeni.

Other tips: Astir Beach nearby is worth the entry fee, for good value food nearby try Zaxos Grill on Ermou, if you want a night out go to Island Club which is 5-10 mins by taxi.
