“Worst hotel in Greece”
Reviewed July 30, 2009

We stayed at this hotel for one night, the staff had messed up our booking and we ended up in a room not requested. Nothing was done to correct this, the balcony doors do not lock, there is only cold water in the rooms, sheets not even put on bed, and when I came back to my room, I accidentally went to the wrong room... only to find out my key unlocked other doors. Definately do not stay here if you want a basic comfortable night stay. Absolutely appaling!

This is not a hotel for the traveler looking for luxury. But if you want a cheap price this is for you. Most of the guests are young backpackers (we are mature travelers). The rooms are reasonably clean (though a little tatty), with air-conditioning (climatic control), television, fridge and sink (the more expensive rooms have en suite). The toilets and showers were kept clean (three rooms share each facility). The young guests sleep late in the morning and stay out till 03:00, so you never really encounter them. The express-bus, tram or regular service bus take you to central Athens for only one Euro (20-40 minute ride), tickets are good for 90 minutes, on the weekends they run 24 hours a day. The hotel is 100 metres (100 yards) from the end of the tram line, so it is easy to find. The beaches are just across the street from the hotel. Free parking is available at the church next door or on the street. Staff is friendly, helpful and multi-lingual (English, Greek, Polish, Russian and probably other languages also). But remember this is a low cost budget hotel, don't expect any luxury. No elevator.

I used this hotel as a cheap base for a week long holiday touring Athens. I definitely wouldn't stay here again due to the noise.
There was a bus stop directly under my room & the buses seemed to run 24/7. It is on a main road & all you get is powerful sports cars & motorbikes screaming past at all hours(especially on the weekends). The everest restaurant/coffeeshop directly underneath the hotel was also open 24/7. It seemed to get very busy in the early hours due to the influx of young clubbers leaving the various clubs that were dotted along the nearby beaches. The restaurant bins were collected & emptied every morning at around 5am.
There is also a church right outside the hotel which starts its bell ringing at about 6am. I also witnessed a homeless guy urinate in the bus stop directly underneath my balcony in broad daylight. There were also ants in my room & strange looking bugs in my bathroom.
On the plus side, the staff were friendly & very helpful. It was no problem for them to arrange trips for me at short notice. The gyros from across the road were to die for. All in all it was a rather noisy experience & I was greatful that I managed to get a couple of days peace & quiet on Mykonos.

  • Liked — Price, close to bus stops.
  • Disliked — Noise, close to bus stops.
