Nice and clean. Location is perfect. Walking distance , there are many things to do. By the beach and bara, clubs, reataurants. We tried almost all hotels by Glyfada area. Sure this one is one of the best.

All staff very very friendly.
Rare to find in Greece

Have stayed in and reviewed plenty of hotels over the years but the standards at Golden Sun make me wonder if I should ring Gordon Ramsay to submit this place for one of his episodes. Let's mention the good things first: The receptionist on check-in was extremely friendly and helpful and the room and bathroom was clean. That's it. Without telling a huge long story, here are the highlights: Totally overpriced. 2 stars at best and almost A$300 a night with breakfast. The corridor paint and lighting including the room reminds me of either East German interrogation rooms or a flashback from The Bourne Identity. Mattresses are hard, bed posts point outwards and rooms are small so it is dead easy to hit your toe when walking past as my wife and 8 year old did. If you have the sliding door to the balcony open, the main road noise will stop you from sleeping, if you close the door air conditioning is icy and loud. The bathroom accessories are as cheap as the breakfast. Stale toast, 3 fatty fried eggs, a bowl with cold hard-boiled ones and what can only be described as an 'attempt at bacon' as well as chocolate spread, 3 Jams, plain yoghurt, sliced tomato, sliced cucumber, smoked sliced Turkey and 3 no name cereals with an automated Nescafe or hot water machine complete the superb offering. No wait, there are greasy small croissants as well. If you get caught taking anything such as a breadroll to your room they will charge you €3.50 there are laminated signs on every table with big lettering. If you order room service there is an extra charge and all items listed in the menu go up by 15% that includes the coffee/cappucino for €5. A myriad of busy looking older Greek men and women are in load conversations with each other as they check the guests in the breakfast room, occasional refill this or that but none of them wear any kind of uniform or reasonable hospitality attire so one would realise they actually work there. The man on reception during our stay and when we left was grumpy and didn't really say Thank you or How did you enjoy your stay, which could be because when we asked for a better room, he showed us a different one which was almost the same size but had 2 extra beds instead of one for an extra €25 a night; we politely declined. Our recommendation: If they want to do something good for the Greek Hospitality industry, they should get out of it, sell the hotel to a chain which is going to re-staff it and renovate it from scratch.

Hotel is perfectly placed for the town of Glyfada and trips into Athens. Short walk into the town center with some great shops and very good restaurants. The hotel is very close to a tram stop- the tram takes you for many kilometers along the sea front The rooms are comfortable and clean. Showers are good. The breakfast is wholesome. Staff are friendly. Overall the hotel is in need of a little T&C but nothing to put me off going there again. Great location

Room tip: The higher the room the better the view and quieter

Staff ridiculous - they would not let my husband bring me 2 bread rolls to our room for breakfast they insisted on charging € 3.50 room service for the waitress to take the rolls to the room . They would not listen to the fact I had been sick all night ( 20 times approx. ) and could not get out of bed without being sick. My husband took this up with 4 members of staff who would not listen and they took the rolls off him and threw them in a bin. THINK sending the waitress who deals with food into a room where someone has been vomiting all night ??!!!! Are you greedy or stupid or both ???!!!! My husband went to a shop and bought some rolls. This ruined our stay. Environmental health officials should investigate this hotel's procedures. The so called hot breakfast was cold and greasy.
The two elderly gentlemen who appear to own the hotel were extremely rude to my husband.

Only positives - Comfortable room , great shower.

Room tip: Tram one side, 6 lane highway on the other !
