The Ancient Greeks knew how to choose a good spot for a temple. A rugged clifftop with views of a stunning coastline, flanked on three sides by the boundless blue of the Aegean is the perfect spot to worship Poseidon, god of the sea. The majestic ruins of his temple remain a striking feature upon the beautiful headland. You can easily spend a few hours admiring the temple (and searching for Byron's graffito upon it), gazing on the ocean, wandering around the site of the site's ancient village, exploring nearby beaches, and having a meal in a magical location. Everyone goes on about being here at sundown, but it's the right place to be at any time!

Great beach to swim, especially for windsurf, and when the sun is coming down, you can enjoy a beautiful sunset.
I visit many times there, the Evangelical Camp, and gather with my brothers and sisters.

The hike up to the temple can take some time. Get dropped off if you can, otherwise it is a long hike up small trails of jagged rocks. If you walk the road it goes way out of the way. Tickets aren't expensive, and they do take debit or credit card, but cash is much faster.
