“Stunning views and setting”
Reviewed April 26, 2013

This is an easy, well signposted, drive straight down the coast from Athens. Allow 1 to 1 1/2 hours for drive, including a stop (Goody's by the roadside is great for morning coffee) Car parking is free and small charge for entry. We've been a few times and they continue to improve the site. Wear 'sensible' shoes as a bit pebbly. It's a very short walk and the temple is really worth a look - the symmetry and column alignment is amazing. Don't be tempted to add to the famous signatures of 19th and early last century. it now looks what it really was, vandalism, and will put you in serious trouble. The views are truly stunning and it's all romantic somehow.
When you've had enough/gets too hot, there is a substantial cafe restaurant for drink/food which is OK and a lovely spot to sit and take in another view.

“Fantastic views”
Reviewed April 25, 2013

very important archeological site but greatly overlooked by tourists. Small charge to get in but well worth it.Great views over the saronic gulf. Nice drive down the coast to get here. get there before or after a bus tour - however they don't usually stay long so have a seat and enjoy the peace and quiet. Restaurant a bit on the tourist side, expensive, food average or below, hygiene poor - waiters allow lots of birds on the tables and eat left over food, toilets often needing a clean.

“Fantastic, great trip out from Athens, very windy”
Reviewed April 24, 2013

The bus trip along the coast to the temple is very scenic, and the finale is the magnificent temple close to the cliffs. It is a great spot, and the temple fills it admirably. The backdrop against the sun, sea, and sky and truly spectacular, and if you can wait for sunset it is even more gorgeous. I would suggest a jacket or windbreaker as the wind can really gust up.

“Just stunning!!!”
Reviewed April 24, 2013

This is my favourite place in Athens. The view from the temple to the sea is just amazing. Whenever I feel like I need some alone time, I go there and forget everything by just sitting on the edge of the cliff and looking at the sea. Attention to foreigners: this site is 65 km from the Athens centre. However, it is worth the visit as you can make this a great experience by having a nice swim and a great lunch at the tavern on the nearby beach, which I highly recommend. You can also visit Laurio afterwards, which is 10 km away and has a lot of fish taverns and a nice marina for a stroll.
