Stayed here for one night as we had arrived from elsewhere in Greece and were travelling on to Italy. What's good about it? Great night's sleep, next door to the airport so you can just wander across the road into the terminal, and one of the best breakfasts we had on holiday (great cheese, ham etc). What's bad? Check-in was inefficient - the concierge to whom I was directed couldn't find the booking as it wasbizarrely filed under my middle name and he then magically transformed me into a woman. The restaurant near the entrance is a rip-off - worst and most expensive burger I've had for ages (you'd be better off eating in the terminal). And the maintenance of the rooms needs looking at - doesn't anyone check whether light bulbs are working anymore?

I had a stopover in Athens at the start of July and stayed at a hotel in the centre of town. The return taxi fare from and to the airport was 80 euros. Flying back, I decided to cut out the cab fare and stay at the Sofitel airport hotel. The room for the night was more expensive than I would normally pay- but it was totally worth the money. My flight arrived at 11 last night- all I had to do to check in was walk across the road- which was great- already I cut out the cab ride :-) Check in was busy- but they immediately opened more booths to accommodate the numbers of arriving guests. The room was spacious and the beds sooooooo soft and comfy- pity I only used it for 4 hours... The wake up call was on time and check out was smooth- easy to walk back across the road for my early morning flight at 6. If you have an extended time in Athens- I would do the can ride again and stay I. Town- however- if you are looking for a great convenient stay on a stopover leg of your trip- this is the hotel to book! Soooooo pleased I did!

We stayed one night at this hotel, arriving by ferddy from Paros, before departue by air before noon the day after. Excellent check-in service and a great location for our purpose. Excellent beds, but a bit noisy AC and a strange layout for the bathroom making it feeling a bit small. Expensive for Greece, but then we saved travel to Athens or sleeping in the airport. We didn't try the brakfast. Fine for a night's stay before or after a flight, if you can afford it.

The Sofitel at Athens airport is really great. As soon as you walk in the door it's quite luxurious. The rooms are a great size with large bathrooms, comfortable beds and wifi.
We were able to shut out the light completely and didn't hear a single plane, slept so well. We didn't have breakfast but its 24hours, great for travellers!
We found out about a flight delay that would impact us making a connecting flight and being so close we could pop straight to the airport and change to an earlier flight.
Check out was super easy and I would stay here again.
