A good restaurant for pasta in the island, the ingredients taste fresh and the staff are really really nice! Home made bread and a good vibe, cant ask for more!

“A hidden gem of a restaurant in Flores.”
Reviewed March 22, 2012

La Albahaca is a nice little restaurant that has some of the best food on the island. Although it does not have a lakefront location, the food more than makes up for it. The service is friendly and the atmosphere is casual but nice. The menu includes salads, pastas, and entree plates with chicken, fish, and steak. Some of our favorites include the chicken in tamarind sauce (I get the mashed potatoes instead of the rice that comes with it), the fish (robalo), and - surprisingly - the cheeseburger (one of the best on the island). A dinner there isn't complete without ordering the pan de la casa, a homemade little round of bread with herb butter. It comes out piping hot and should not be missed. Also on the must-try list are the desserts, a chocolate mousse and a tiramisu that are delicious. Albahaca is only open for dinner, but if you stop by in the afternoon, their bakery is open and bustling. It's the most popular bakery on the island with a wide range of regular and sweet bread.

“Unassuming, but quite excellent!”
Reviewed February 26, 2012

This restaurant is kind of dark horse of the island...it is not very big and it is typically not ever packed, but it's food is homemade and delicious. My faves include the tamarind chicken, the robalo filet, and the pastas. Make sure to order bread to go with your dinner: it is made in the bakery there and is absolutely delicious! BTW, if you are a Phil Collins-a-phile this place is your promised land. You will wish you had "One More Night" to eat this delicious food.
