“Amazing Steaks”
Reviewed August 8, 2013

In travels I have eaten at a LOT of different restaurants. However, I typically do not review any of them. This restaurant deserves all the praise it can get! Love the atmosphere, and the food is fantastic! I will be stopping here EVERY time I am even close to the area.

“Amazing Steak!”
Reviewed August 2, 2013

This was one of the best steaks I've ever eaten. I went for the dinner steak with added shrimp and it tasted amazing. As part of the meal you get a big salad, bread and a cobbler dessert as well.

There is no alcohol served, but you can take your own.

The atmosphere is great, our waitress Sally couldn't be more helpful. She even gave me a root beer to take on my way.

Coupled with a stay at Cactus Inn, you get a true American Mom and Pop welcome.

“The real Texas Steakhouse”
Reviewed May 26, 2013

I stayed at the Cactus Inn next door on a trip out west. The decor of the steakhouse classic texas roadhouse. The interior is weathered. They have plastic red and white checkered table cloths. Water comes in a diner style plastic cup. If you want the genuine texas roadhouse, this is for you.

I had the smoke prime rib which is there saturday night special. The steak was cooked to my liking and very tender. They steak came with a salad and baked potato. The salad was a basic iceberg lettuce salad and the baked potato was a basic baked potato. The highlight of the meal was the steak. You could really taste the smoke in the outer part of the steak.

The service was good and they had a cowboy guitarist playing music on Saturday night.

“A really good steak experience”
Reviewed April 19, 2013

Dined at this restaurant on a recommendation from Gary Turner at Gay Parita, Paris Springs, Missouri. The steak was just out of this world. I had high expectations and they were definitely met. Also managed to procure a bottle of Brennan's Vineyards red at the gas station in Alanread, seven miles down the road (McLean is dry!) which went exceedingly well with the steak. Really good value too!

“you have to have a great steak in Texas”
Reviewed March 21, 2013

Just happened to spot a billboard heading east on route 40 stating the best food you ever had or it is free. No worries about that. I had their Texas strip and my daughter had their steak kabob. Both were large and the bread and salad were both very fresh. Oh yea, did I mention you get a free peach or apple cobbler with your dinner. Only problem I had was not falling asleep driving east after the meal. Well worth the stop!
