“Not Worth The Effort”
Review of Coffee 2 - CLOSED

Been in here several times after dinner in downtown and always treated as if none ore the staff wanted to be there and didn't want us to be ther as well. Pastries are definitely old at in the evening and shouldn't be sold. Haven't tried the new ice cream and sweet place inside since they were closed as least an hour before they posted closing time. No drip coffee available at 9:15PM and soon learned why...told to leave at 9:25 as they were closing. This place has the potential to be great. The building has great character, it's not a chain(which downtown McKinney should never allow-although it already did), and a late night dessert coffee place is needed. Unfortunately, it doesn't hit the mark. Mainly due to the lack of desire on the staff, which one can only assume comes from the owner.

One of the best coffees around but their sweets needs help. Lacks variety, some are store bought and sometimes they are old.

I've been to Coffee2 a number of times since moving to McKinney, both solo and with my wife, and we agree that this is our favorite local coffee spot. The coffee is consistently of very high quality and roasted locally (in TX). We love the relaxed atmosphere and free WiFi, and often go just to hang out for an hour or so and get stuff done online.
The only downside is that if you go during busy times, you won't find a place to sit. Groups have a tendency to meet there, and you may find a table or two open, but no chairs available to sit on.
But this does not happen very often, so it is not reflected in the rating.

This coffee shop is just to the left of the large hotel in downtown McKinney and a few feet off the main square. There is seating inside for 49 people( we read the sign posted) and outside for around 8 customers. The walls in the place are old brick with art work hanging around the seating area. Four leather lounge chairs and the rest if chairs and table. They have Wi-fi. There is a small counter for sweets and the coffee condiments. The counter persons as one of the most friendly we have seen in any coffee shop. In fact he was the only employee in the place when we were there. The coffee was good and very hot even though the coffee is taken from a pump canister.
