Had high hopes for this place, since we were so close to the Tx/La border, but it was just average. Ordered the oyster poor boy. The oysters were good and there were plenty of them. But the bread was NOT good. It tasted like they had just bought a bunch of rolls from the grocery. I'm used to the bread on poor boys being fresh and tasting like they just came out of the oven a few hours ago. My husband got the shrimp poor boy and had the same experience. Lots of shrimp, bread was bad.

On the plus side, the service was good. Food arrived promptly. There was a live band playing. Clean, family place.

Great food, clean, and great service. There was a good variety of southern style food to choose from. The food was hot. The cashier was very friendly. There was also a live band the evening we were here, made the atmosphere all the better.

Based on what I have seen in Marshall, I think this place is good. I doubt you'll find other restaurants that are better. I had fish and rice, it wasn't bad.

Could eat here all the time. Some of the best Cajun food we've ever had. Large servings, great service.

Basic, home style high quality food. Cajun Tex is very casual, walk up to order, get a number, and they bring the food to the table. We had the pulled pork potato skins, crawfish etouffe, Cajun burger, and shrimp tacos. All were great, filling, and authentic. This place is not formal at all, come as you are, but a must stop when you are in East Texas.
