Chinati was an outstanding exhibit, his work is brilliantly displayed, and the guide was so knowledgeable. The highlight of the Marfa trip.

“Excellent”

Very well worth the trip to Marfa. We did the full tour and thought it was extremely worthwhile. This was definitely one of the highlights of our 11 day road trip from Dallas to Los Angeles.

“A cool place to visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2012

The Chinati Foundation is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. I am not that into modern art, but it Donald Judd's metal cubes are very cool. I really liked the way he used the existing structures to work for his art. Be prepared to walk a lot and have comfortable shoes, even for the 2 hour tour. The docent we had was very sweet and knowledgeable about the art. Definitely an interesting tour!

“High Art, awesome for anyone”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 22, 2012

Even if you are not a follower of contemporary art, if you go here, I would be surprised if you find not come away impressed, awed and perhaps even productively confused. This offers an extremely rare experience, not only for this country but internationally as well.
The full tour costs $20 per person and takes about four hours; there is a break for lunch. In the area you can see the "Marfa Lights"; here you will experience the "Marfa Hi-Lights". If you are curious, go; you will remember this experience.

“Overblown”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2012

Interesting buildings and over-rated, repetitive art works, which are not worth the two-part all day tour. They do no offer the option of touring on your own, which would probably take an hour or two.
