We stayed here for a wedding because in Marfa there are few lodging options, this place is in the middle of nowhere 30 mins to get to any kind of store. When we we there the roads we so bad had blowouts on 2 tires of our suburban. Beware do not take a luxury car to this luxury resort as the roads some times of year are horrible, took us 15-20 minutes to drive @ 3 miles.
Of course they had excuses but that was a huge problem. The resort is very expensive and food is expensive and not included and you have no choice but to eat there or drive, as I a mentioned above, thru bad roads 30 mins to eat- it is not worth the hassle.
We have traveled all over the world and the only great thing about this resort is it literally is away from the city. The rooms are not anything special for 250.00 to 350.00 a night they should be nice.

WOW! All the way from June. Get in touch directly with me so we are able to discuss because we are unable to find anyone staying here in May, June or July from your area. All information as to our location, facilities and dining are clearly spelled out on our website, next time may we recommend you stay in the center of Marfa the roads are paved there, and there are numerous lodging facilities available.

We maintain our road everyday and rather than use asphalt to poison our pristine environment & water aquifer we choose to add native materials and carefully grade it whenever possible, very important.

Our location is truly unique and thanks for pointing that out in your review.

Sincerely,

Michael Danella

We arrived on the 30th of December and left on the 2nd of January and our time went so fast. Out in the middle of no where is this beautiful Ranch. Our room was in the Lake side wing and was lovely. The bath was set up nicely for two people with lots of room and separate potty room, shower room and then a huge dressing area with two sinks.

The meals were delicious and the staff very friendly. We met a lot of nice people. The max number of guest is 50 and the ranch was full while we were there.

We went on the Mountain Drive in the Humvee and it was special. spectacular vistas.

What a special New Years Eve we had. It ended with Smores by the fire pit and a star party.

I've traveled all ovedr the world and never felt compelled to write a review before. I can't believe that this gem is located in west Texas and so few people know about it. Our stay was perfection. Five-star accommodations, food, service and experience. The hotel staff were amazing, from the meals to the activities including sporting clays and a hum-vee tour. I can't say enough about this place - we will be back.

We are from London and are bit fans of Texas. We recommended this secret luxury by friends in Houston. It is an incredible place to stay, full of a sense of history, with amazing landscapes, understated luxury and great activities. The people who work there are really friendly, it has a sanctuary feel to it, with a quiet pool to sit by, and the high quality meals eaten at communal tables. We took the humvee ride around part of the enormous ranch land, which has a range of rare breeds, went horse riding, did some skeet shooting and went for long walks. Seeing the buffalo up close while on a tour was a surreal experience. As other people have said, it is a ranch - its remote, and you don't have some of the all you can eat style amenities of a city hotel, but it felt incredibly safe, peaceful and calm. I only wish we had stayed longer!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Cibolo Creek Ranch. First of all, the folks who work there are amazing. Super friendly. They knew me by name as I drove up the path. Oh yes- the path. I should emphasize that this is a ranch. It is not a regular run of the mill hotel. It is a ranch. Therefore the terrain is rugged; there is a dirt road leading to the property. A small detail that really doesn't even matter once you're there because it's so beautiful.

Cibolo is very good at working with any special requests you may have, especially in regard to meals. My sister is a vegetarian, so they made sure to prepare meals accordingly. The charge for meals is $75 dollars a day for 3 meals; breakfast, lunch ,and dinner. And, you eat in a communal setting. For me personally I'd rather it be sit where you please. But, it was a nice way to get to meet some of the other guests at the ranch and hear about their experiences. There are not tons of places to eat in Marfa which is about 30 min away, so you're limited on dining options. There is not a place in the rooms for you to cook your own food, and from what I could tell there were not any refrigerators in the rooms. The rooms are beautiful! It was like being at home. Beautiful decorations, pictures on the walls, gorgeous fireplace, comfortable beds, and the temperature in the room was never an issue (and I am always trying to turn down the air in hotel rooms). Unless you have Verizon you will have absolutely no cell service or wi-fi. There are not phones in the room or tv's. There is a media room and there is an office for guests with a tv, phone, computer, etc. Lots of cool pictures and memorabilia throughout the ranch.

We went on a horseback ride tour of the ranch. The wrangler, Dennis, was amazing. He was a little piece of heaven. Super sweet guy, beautiful well-tamed horses, he was so knowledgable about the grounds and the area of Texas. I'll never forget Dennis.

At night the grounds are very dark. But, the staff kindly put a flashlight in our room. There are fire pits outside of the rooms by the lake. They were not lit on Sunday night when we were there. But I imagine if we'd asked them to they would've lit a fire for us.

Overall this was a wonderful place to stay; gorgeous environment, beautiful rooms, delicious cuisine, and wonderful hospitality. I look forward to staying here again and bringing my family. Great place to get away from it all.

Room Tip: Do not rely on your car's GPS to get you to Cibolo! We almost ended up in Mexico with the GPS i...

Our recent 4-day stay at Cibolo Creek Ranch will be hard to beat. The entire staff were gracious and welcoming even staying late (due to our late arrival) to orient us to the property and escort us to our lovely room overlooking the lake. Each meal was excellent and our fellow guests made for interesting and entertaining dinner conversations. We spent time exploring the ranch, reading at lakeside, star-gazing, chatting by the fire pit, and enjoying the peace and calm of this extraordinary place surrounded by rugged beauty and wildlife. Cibolo Creek offered us a memorable escape from our busy lives and we will definitely be serial guests! We can recommend it without reservation. J & B

Room Tip: There is no bad room; the staff will make excellent recommendations.

Cordial and helpful staff. Amazing location. If you need peace and quiet, then drop the smart phone. Leave the laptop behind. Don't bother with the iPad and enjoy. I look forward to going back. The place should be a World Heritage Site.
