Travelers have priorities, and bass fishermen are no different. For us, we have to be able to park the boat, get in and out of our room easily in the pre-dawn hours, and get some sleep. Safely. Hill Country Inn came close, but with definite caveats.
Yes, we were able to back to boat into the last available space in front of our downstairs room, and yes, we had easy access to it from our room. HOWEVER, our room reverberated deep into the night to the beat of the disco bar next door, then echoed with the post-partying in the parking lot once the bar closed. I may as well have gotten up and gone out to pound a beer or two myself, as the bar patrons hung out on our doorstep.
Other glitch - wifi works in the office, but not in our room. I got a sympathetic look from the desk guy but that was all, so I hunkered down in the breakfast area to check emails.
There is a minimal breakfast early and that was helpful (donuts, cereal, coffee, juice, fruit). Rooms are well-done and comfy. Stay again? Probably - if I can be at the other end of the building.More
