“Favorite Texas vineyard”
Reviewed November 3, 2013

My husband and I discovered this place last year when visiting Austin and when visiting this year, made a special trip to go back to Flat Creek Estate. The bistro has WONDERFUL food (try the BBQ chicken pizza for lunch), but make sure you have reservations. Outside has a beautiful view and atmosphere. The tasting room is great and the service is really good. We sat outside with several glasses and enjoyed the day. It is a drive from the other Hill Country vineyards, but definitely worth it. The Super Texan wine is my favorite. We didn't encounter anyone who was rude -- far, far from it. Everyone we encountered was extraordinarily friendly and helpful.

“Rude”
Reviewed October 29, 2013

My family, friends and I were visiting the area for weeding on Lake Travis and decided to tour a few wineries while in the area. This was our first stop and would be our only visit to the place. The Estate was very nice well manicured and they were even setting up for a wedding on the property. However when we entered the tasting area the staff was extremely rude we were told they did not have enough room for us to taste any wines because there were 10 people. Although it was a very pleasant day and the patio area was rather empty. We decided to leave and tried 2 other wineries that day that were more than happy to see us.

I apologize for your experience last year in our Tasting Room. As you know, we are arranged a little different than many of the wineries in that we do not have a tasting bar (all our tastings are done seated at tables). Although this allows for a more relaxing and educational experience, it can sometimes cause problems on busy days. To better accommodate groups of 8+guests, we have added group tasting packages to our listing of options. These group tastings are conducted in private tasting rooms (either the Port Room or Trooper's Den) and offer a tour option as well. We hope you'll try us again sometime and call ahead to reserve for one of our private tasting experiences.

“Our visit to Flat Creek winery”
Reviewed October 22, 2013 via mobile

Today was our second visit both to the tasting room and the bistro. Our drive from Liberty Hill, Tx was easy and scenic. It's amazing traveling through the hill country around Austin. We love this winery and always leave with more types of wine. The bistro has a beautiful vista and delicious food. We have had the cheese platter for two and today we had the sausage mushroom pizza. Both were very satisfying. The staff in the tasting room and bistro are friendly, knowledgeable and most helpful.

“Some excellent wines and beautiful view.”
Reviewed October 20, 2013

Virtually impossible to find unless your OnStar/GPS is working very well. It had, at the time of our visit, NO signs on the highways, to find it. This is one of my favorite vineyards and has a modest but nice tasting room. What I don't understand is what I perceive as good employees but a management that seems to not be actively managing. There seems to be a slight lack of maintenance, and marketing of the vineyard/tasting room/restaurant. The restaurant is good, and it would be an excellent place for a spring visit and lunch. Flat Creek's Viognier won the gold medal at the 2012 Lyon, France competition.

falconfling1,

Thank you for your Trip Advisor Rating. Many of our guests mention reading about us on Trip Advisor prior to visiting and your comments are always helpful. I am interested in tips you might have on better marketing the Estate. We try hard to keep our website, facebook, twitter ect. up-to-date as well as post in various local newspapers and online wine event sites. Is there a particular website, newspaper ect. that you look at to gather information on what sites to visit? Is there a particular maintenance area you noticed that we have overlooked? Please contact us with any ideas at events@flatcreekestate.com. Thank you for taking the time to review us on Trip Advisor and we hope to see you again soon!

Nice property in hills. The staff was very attentive. We tasted several different wines and ended up purchasing 6 bottles. We will visit again next time we're in the area.
