Quaint little 50' s diner Texas style. Great fresh handmade burgers and the staff is so friendly. Must try Mexican tortilla burger. Very inexpensive. A must stop if going to marathon area or big bend.

“Country breakfast”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 17, 2014

Waitress was excellent. Good breakfast....well only breakfast in town. True country breakfast. Small, but quaint old style soda shop. Meal was served quickly so we could hit the road for Big Benc.

“Good diner for families”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 30, 2014 via mobile

We had lunch and breakfast here multiple times during our stay. The kids loved the bacon and pancakes. My husband and I really enjoyed the migas....yummy!
My husband and kids loved the burger, I was out of luck because they had no veggie burgers but oh well....small town diner probably doesn't get a ton of requests for veggie burgers.
Cute little place with good food.

“Great bacon”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 8, 2014

We actually tried to eat there twice but only succeeded once. The first time we tried the small place was packed (It was the only thing open for breakfast since the Marathon Coffeehouse had decided not to open that day.) After fifteen minutes and no attention at all we went to the counter and got coffees to go ($1 for a large takeout cup) and left. The next morning it was still the only place open so we tried again. This time there was a different waitress and cook. We were greeted warmly and serve coffee immediately. Hubby got the bacon, sausage, 2 egg, hashbrowns, toast combo and it was very good. I got the oatmeal and bacon. It was a huge bowl of microwave oatmeal with a tablespoon of raisons and brown sugar and a side of bacon. The bacon was nice and thick and not overcooked or too greasy. The prices were extremely reasonable. We were satisfied with the meal and would go back.

“A nice surprise!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 5, 2014 via mobile

Stopped in for lunch as there was not much open to choose from in Marathon on a weekday. I ordered the chili cheese dog and my spouse ordered the jalapeño cheese burger with fries. The hot dog was excellent with homemade chili. I asked them to add mustard. I would definitely would order that hot dog again! The hamburger was huge and delicious. The fries were battered and ok. The tea came in a very large mason jar. This place was a nice surprise!
