We have been staying at the Crown Colony Inn on our yearly trips to Rockport, Tx since our first trip to Rockport when the Colony Inn was new. We had stayed elsewhere on our trip to TX and were not pleased so we decided to try this Best Western in Lufkin, TX, on our return. What a difference! It was spotless, the ingress and egress easy, wonderful food choices in walking distance and the manager Teresa Whiteside and her staff welcoming, friendly and eager to please. Our room was quiet and when we requested our certain room or early arrival Teresa and her staff were gracious and accommandating. It has been about 6 years if my memory serves me and our trip in late August and return in Sept. was the very same as our first stay. Except of course we were greeted by old friends and welcomed to the same room.

Room Tip: We like to be near an easy exit as we have a minor disability. If you want to keep your parking place walk to one of the very close restrauants.

We love staying at the Best Western in Lufkin. Comfortable, clean, friendly, quiet, and easy to get in and out. Kids love the pool and McDonalds with play place next door. Texas shaped waffles thrilled the kids for breakfast. USA Today paper nice to have. We have stayed many times and will continue to come back.

The room was updated and the window A/C unit was quiet, which we consider important features. We had already settled in when we noticed that the sink in the bathroom almost did not drain at all. Rather than switch rooms, since we were tired, we propped the stopper up with two pennies. Then, in the morning, we discovered that the coffee pot was inoperable since it was missing the "on/off" button. There was a hot "free" breakfast, but it was rather tasteless with perfectly round, molded eggs and really thin gravy for the biscuits.
The people who work here are always extremely helpful and welcoming.
There is a nice restaurant and bar next door (Ralph and Kacoo's) that you can walk to if you don't want to drive anymore that day. The bar has an excellent and lively happy hour.

Room Tip: This is obvious, but rooms not facing the highway are quieter.

Thank you very much for taking the time to review our hotel. I just want to let you know that all items such as the sink and your coffee pot have been repaired. We have also investigated the breakfast of the eggs and the gravy with our breakfast attendants to make sure that we are serving nothing but the finest quality items. A top notch product and customer service is our main priority and we can't do that without your comments, so thanks again for your stay and your comments. We hope to see you again very soon!

Good clean hotel. Quiet. Our room had a ceiling fan which I thought was crazy! The breakfast was bleh, but I don't expect magic with continental breakfasts.

My husband and I booked this hotel through Hotels.com and stayed here on a road trip, on our way south from Jefferson. We chose it due to the good reviews on Trip Advisor and its close proximity to highway 59, and we weren't disappointed. Check-in was efficient and all staff that we encountered were friendly and helpful. We stayed in a King Suite, which was very spacious, with a separate sitting area and the bed was really comfortable. Even though it's just off the highway, we weren't disturbed by the traffic and slept really well. The room and bathroom were very clean, and we loved the free WiFi and the big TV. There was a large variety of food for breakfast, which we enjoyed. There are a number of fast food chains and a gas station in the same area, which was very convenient. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Nacogdoches / Lufkin area.
