Give this place a try. It's not real big but it is nice and has some very interesting animals. Lots of shade and up close views of the peacocks.

Perfect size for a morning visit, with a nice variety of animals to be seen. Peacocks all over the place, but they tended to add to the experience. Everyone we met was very informative and helpful.

This is a small zoo, but is just right for young kids. My kids get tired walking through the bigger zoos in Dallas and Fort Worth. We are usually getting close to the end when they get tired at Ellen Trout Zoo. You also get to be much closer to the animals here than at the bigger zoos. It is a lot of fun.

We took our grandson there a few years ago and liked it so much we bought the season pass for grandparents. It is inexpensive, informative, well maintained and has shade for those hot Texas days.
