We love taking our kids to this zoo- even on hot days, it is considerably cooler in the zoo due to wonderful shade provided by trees. Admission is reasonable, but for only $40 you can get an annual family pass which also gets you a discount or free admission to other zoos in the country, and 10% off gift shop merchandise. There are a lot of peacocks and they do run free, but that is one of the things we love about our zoo- it is a neat experience for the kids to get so close to them and to see their eggs and their babies throughout the year. It is small enough that you can see everything in about an hour if you go quickly, or you can take your time and still see everything and not be there all day long. There are park areas outside the zoo (no cost), a nice lake, picnic tables, etc if you want to have a party or just take the kids to the park. In the zoo, there are several covered seating areas if you need to stop and let the kids have a break, a picnic lunch, or just sit and watch some of the animals. The gift shop and concession are reasonable, not outrageous. The zoo also has hippos, which a lot of zoos don't have. It's a really good quality zoo for a very good price. It is wonderful to have this in our community. Thanks to the annual family pass, we always have something to do if we just want to get out of the house without spending extra money or committing to something too time consuming.

I LOVE this little ZOO!! it's an inexpensive day trip to take the family, spend the day, and have some quality family time together. We picnic in the park, feed the ducks and the kids play at the playground. Then we walk through the zoo, which has a lot to see for the price and size of the zoo, and the animal enclosures are pretty nice. The zoo itself is pretty and has lots of shady places to sit and relax. Before we leave we always take a ride on the train, it's a big hit with the little kids, and the big ones too! All in all, a wonderful place!

A great way to spend an afternoon with the kids. Lots of shade from the hot sun, numerous areas with picnic tables. Don't expect much from the concession though. Outside the zoo is two great play areas, and the minature train ride. Very reasonably priced.

This is a really quaint zoo, but it is terrribly overrun with peacocks. Translation: You have to be very careful where you walk and where you sit as these are messy birds.

The exhibits are nice, but seeing peacocks inside eating the animals food is disheartening. It is an easy and pleasant walk through the zoo if you ignore all the birds.

This zoo has great potential IF they control the peacock population.

We may be a small town, but we have a big time zoo. We take our grandchildren EVERY time they visit (4 to 5 times per year) and they have a wonderful time each and every time. They look for "their brick" in the walk way as they head for the hippo exhibit. The zoo is aways clean and animals are well cared for. And, of course we never leave without riding the train which goes across the lake where we look for alligators in the water. Fun time and great memories. We have a grandparent's membership which allows us to visit other zoos across the nation and we have enjoyed that priviledge many times.
