I trip to Fredericksbug must be completed with a visit to Luckenbach, TX. Take a picture in front of the general store. Steno through, grab a cold beer and meander out the back where there is always music. Sometimes it's a band, but, at anytime, there are musicians strumming, pickin, and singing. Roosters are strutting around. Customers come in all sizes, shapes, and styles. Bike riders, cowboys, hippies, yuppies, grandparents, small children all mesh together in this little "step back in time". One of my favorite places to hangout! Sign up online for their newsletter to keep up with activities and performers! You just might run into Willie, Waylon, and the boys!

“Quaint”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2013

We probably would have enjoyed it more if it wouldn't have been the 'off' season (January), however, it was cute and if in the area definitely worth a stop. Looks like they must attract large crowds as a large parking area. Tiny post office is also a 'general store' of sorts with a lot of eclectic items. In the back is a bar. Another building had a walk-up window snack bar. Nothing much going on there in January.

“Old, charmingly rustic, and totally different”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 27, 2013

The store is also the Post Office and the lady was wonderful. It is a tiny store and doesn't carry "normal" variety store stuff but certainly worth a visit. it even has a bar in the back and a fat kitty cat that sleeps whereever the cat is comfortable.
Not a "gussied up" place to visit and more charming because it isn't. Luckenbach has a population of 3 so be prepared.

“Everyone loves Luckenbach!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 13, 2013

I have been here quite a few times and I just love it. I love sitting at the picnic tables, having lunch and listening to the local music artists. I love the people who work here and the atmosphere they work so hard to create. I have yet to enjoy a concert at the dance hall, but soon! There isn't a thing that I can say I do not like about it here. I have loved every visit, and my guests that I bring along have too!
