“Great Place, but don't go in July in 110 degree weather!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2014

I have been to the Ranching Heritage Center multiple times since I was a child. A year ago, we decided it would be fun to take the kids for their first visit. We had a great time, and the kids enjoyed seeing "All the old stuff" but it was really really hot! If you are going to go, it is a lot of walking and I recommend going in the fall, or early spring. Texas Summers can be brutal, and unfortunately there is not a lot of shade around the buildings. This is one of my best childhood memories, and it is definitely worth a visit, or 5.

“Tremendous visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 11, 2014

Attended a special reception at this place. Really a unique place. Well maintained, very informative. Great learning facility for our youth, lots of history. Buildings on site, train exhibit really realistic. Wish I had experience it earlier on visits to Lubbock.

“Absolutely beautiful and historic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 14, 2014

I loved the history and the hands on displays. I also loved the little general store. The wild life that is allowed to flourish in the center made things so fascinating and authentic to me. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit.

“Lots of Old Buildings”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 25, 2014

There are about 50 old ranch related buildings - houses, barns, school houses, etc. I was disappointed that many had visible angle iron and modern nails and screws but otherwise it is a very good collection. See how people lived out west in the late 1800's. There is a little to see in the air conditoned buidling but the rest of it is outdoors so plan accordingly.
