Good rolls/muffins . . . that's about it. We call it the "old people" steak house.

“Best Steak in Town!”
Reviewed April 21, 2012

In my opinion, this is absolutely the best steak in town. Beef is top notch. I will visit this place every time I go to Lubbock.

“Misses the touches of fine dining”
Reviewed March 18, 2012 via mobile

We go to the 50 Yard Line when we get to Lubbock. This time we brought a party of approximately 20.

This restaurant has a faithful clientele, mostly older customers because the food is predictable and the atmosphere is quieter than the chain restaurants. It's also more expensive than most of its competition. The restaurant is known for its beef, which is generally quite good. The service the night we were there (03/10) was unremarkable, and was accompanied by a 20% service charge, high for the level of service that was received.

The meals were preceded by a vegetable tray which consisted of two stalks of celery, two carrot sticks, two green onions, and a basket of cheese and blueberry rolls. The vegetable tray seemed amateurish, like a truck stop diner. Several of our party ordered from the bar.

After dinner, several ordered coffee. Drinks during the meal were not replenished with request. After unremarkable post-dinner coffee, refills were not offered. After all, the 20% service charge was already collected.

Bottom line, not bad food, service amateurish, atmosphere unremarkable. This restaurant could use some real competition to sharpen its game.

“Cafeteria quality at 5 Star prices...”
Reviewed January 20, 2012

Salads were withered and warm. What should have been 14oz steaks were more like 10oz. Med Rare ribeye steaks were tough and not much marbelization to them.. Rolls were saturated with butter. Atmosphere was horrendous. Dated 1980s banquet tables and chairs. 2 members in the party had to wait about 15 min after the table was brought their food for their plates.. An unfortunate choice for a birthday party of which will not be repeated.
