closest thing to a hipster austin restaurant as lubbock will get. Love the food. (hate the beef jerky though) other than that great food and decent service. Service reflects the old home cafe days...which isnt saying much.

“Not going back”
Reviewed May 8, 2013

I have eaten here twice: once for a midweek lunch, once for Friday dinner. At lunch, my companion ordered a medium-well burger and I ordered a rare steak; she received a rare burger and I received a medium-well steak. For dinner, my gin and tonic was made with flat tonic water and cost $7 (on happy hour prices!). The food orders were again incorrect, and not because the place was busy--we were the only people there for a while. I will not be visiting a third time.

“Looking for something different in Lubbock?”
Reviewed April 26, 2013

Everything is home made - I had the roast beef on chiabati bun with horseradish crema & strawberries accompanied with twice fried fries that were fabulous! I'd go back just for the fries.
Took the walnut oil cake home & it, too was wonderful. Sweetened with honey which made it not as sweet as most cakes so the icing made the whole thing GREAT. Too bad they strive for the noisy pub atmosphere - Quieter acoustics would have been more comfortable.

“Seek this place out”
Reviewed April 23, 2013

Is closed on Monday... We came back great little menu, pretzel is very good wish it came with a little beer cheese sauce, not a mustard fan myself. Beer selection was very good and listed on the wall when you walk in, as much as possible was texas sourced which is very good of them to support the state.
I had Branzino which was kind of small but very good could of used one more piece of fish but was very well done. Others had the steak fritz which looked good.
Definately deserves the high rating. Atmosphere could use some work, kind of basic decor

“Locally Owned Eatery”
Reviewed April 12, 2013

I'm surprised that more people don't visit this establishment. The atmosphere is fantastic. The food is good, and prices are reasonable. I like the various brew options as well. The all day texas breakfast menu option is hands down one of my favorite meals from a restaurant in Lubbock. Great variety on the menu with generous portions. You can't go wrong by visiting here. Also a good location for small business lunches as generally it isn't too crowded.
