Buddy Holly was and incredible
Talent and it's nice that someone took the time to immortalize his story in his home town. It doesnt take but an hour and they gave us a free admission to Silent Wings as well. Way to go Lubbock.

Located next to the up and coming "Depot District" (which itself is full of fun, food, music, art, winery etc), the museum did not meet my expectations but was interesting. Additional detail, memorabilia, facts would certainly enhance the Center as there is a lot more to be known about Buddy, his life, his music and death and subsequent family controvery than is shared here.
The gift shop sadly is one of the more interesting parts and the employee (or volunteer?) on duty was full of information and enthusiasm and actually added a lot to our tour.
If you can check ahead, there are sometimes concerts, art exhibits etc. held in the courtyard or adjoining venues...especially the McPherson Winery.

It is fun and intersting to look at music history. There are many places to eat at walking distances.

It could be a destination for die hard fans but for most it is a well spent 2 hours. If you go in liking Buddy then you will leave loving him.

I think theenjoyable Buddy Holly museum is fun for locals when live music is playing in the museums courtyard. BUT its a Fun museum, you can Get a pair of Buddy glasses, or take a picture on the huuuuge pair of black glasses out front of the museum. There are a bunch of pubs and food choices in walking distance from the museum. Which I enjoy.
