“FIRST FRIDAY ART TRAIL”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2012

We enjoyed the the First Friday Art Trail starting here and winding through 22 Arts venues. There were some refreshments and live music as well as art work to view or purchase. We didn't use it but there was a free trolley service to travel between studios and galleries. I was especially impressed with the clay studio with some unique rusted metal gates with pottery designs. There was a wide variety of contemporary art,photo-realism to non-objective abstract. Even a few big name originals like Warhol and Picasso were on display in one gallery.
If you are in the Hub city on the first Friday of the month, look for those green Trolleys and get a tour map at the LHU Art Center to plot your course through Lubbock's growing Arts District.

Difficult to get into but finally was able to and very pleased with all the information and way everything was displayed in this center. From wheelchair point of view my neck did not hurt looking up all the time. great way everything was presented.

I love this gallery, and it is especially fun on the 1st Friday of each month, when different galleries around town host an art trail.

“A great art museum in downtown Lubbock”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 16, 2011

We were there on a first Friday Night of the month which is when Lubbock has its Friday Night Art Trail, and there was a great exhibit by local artists and photographers.

In the black box theatre, they had songwriters putting on a show, and talking about their craft, and there was wine and munchies.

It was very impressive.
