Description: The atmosphere is beautiful and intriguing at the same time - splashes of unique colors and art engulf the interior to bring the patrons into a surrounding unlike any other. Our menu is unique in almost every way and we strive to surprise every customer on what their palette might enjoy while trying their next glass of wine. Our knowledgeable staff is always available for anyone with questions about wine typologies or even to just talk "shop" about our wine selection. One of the most unique experiences we offer to our guest is the option to use our self-serve Italian made Enomatics. We offer a selection of 48 wines on these tasting machines that can be dispensed at the correct temperature directly to customers through the use of a microchip card. Every wine on the system can be dispensed in 1.5oz, 3oz, or 6oz pours - giving our guests the chance to taste as many wines as they like without having to look at a single menu. Our goal is to help everyone experience the various types of wine from around the world and to never make anyone feel that you have to have a degree in enology to enjoy a great glass of wine.

It's cool Lubbock can have such a nice place. When I'm there, I forget I'm in Lubbock! Ha! But, the wine is too expensive for what you're getting. You're definitely paying for the social atmosphere. I do recommend it though.

Went to restaraunt with high hopes. Looked inviting, atmosphere good. However, hopes were dashed fairly quickly when the traditional martini did not have gin. Service was good, even if waiter was unfamiliar with menu and Hendricks martini had took 15 minutes to make after barstaff consulted Google.
Cheese appitizer consisted of Pepper Jack and Kraft cheddar with some Oscar meyer cold cuts and a couple of olives.
Fondue was almost a fondon't. Was served cold and took a while to heat up to edible temp. Once warm, it was good.

Gotta remember to set sights lower when in Lubbock.

My two sisters and sister-in-law took Mother to celebrate her 86th birthday on a Saturday for brunch to The Funky Door in Lubbock, Texas.

Notice the “funky door” upon entering! When you walk in you are transformed into a dark, ambiance world of fine dining, music and an impressive wine list. The overall atmosphere showed modern colors and every usable space decorated creatively and well-utilized. Check out the restrooms as well.

The staff was friendly, efficient and did not give us the feeling of being rushed. The jazz band played familiar tunes which set the mood of being relaxed and entertained.

The food was good - not exceptional, but of good quality. The spinach-artichoke fondue had an impressive display however the French croutons were too dense/dry to our liking. The squash lasagna, brunch frittata, turkey wrap had no complaints. We were shown the notable Italian made Enomatic which is a selection of 48 wines on these tasting machines that can dispense at the correct temperature a 1.5oz, 3oz, or 6oz pours by selecting them through a purchased microchip card.

Don’t miss this club for it will be a quiet and laid back experience.

This was a great place! They explain how the process to try wines works. Waitress was so helpful and friendly. Great jazz group playing but not too loud....just perfect. Awesome atmosphere!

Made a reservation for 6:45. Arrived at 6:40. Was told it would be a 30 minute wait. Huh? 7:10....still no table. Thanks for nothing Funky Door. You've shown you have no regard for peoples time and their willingness to give you a chance. Customers deserve better. I was willing to give you my money for your product. Once again, thanks for nothing. We went to Taco Villa. So much for our date night. Hope the kid had more fun with the babysitter than we had at Funky Door.
