Having worked in this hotel for about 2 and half years I learned a lot about the property not only as an employee but as a guest having to stay during bad weather. I still have a lot of pride in this hotel not only because it was my first job, I also worked in almost ever department of the hotel. Yes, I will admit that there are some issues in the hotel but I do know that they are being taken care of. When I left the property the pool had just been resurfaced and got a wonderful fresh coat of paint, the entire hotel had the carpets cleaned & we were working around the clock to solve as many problem as we could. I have read several reviews and have seen comments about management, noise, breakfast, housekeeping Ect. May I start out by saying that any type of management is hard to get a hold of...am I right?? And about the noise, most hotels are built cheaply as possible and as quick as possible...OK, well when your are going the cheapest route your not going to pack the walls with installation, my father works for construction and has built many houses so I know this for a fact...it sucks but hey do as your told I guess. Breakfast is free at the hotel, if you don't like it, don't eat it, it's was FREE you didn't loose any money. About the comments on housekeeping I will agree that there are some issues but it happens everywhere, personally I think it really depends on how a person views the cleanliness of their space but also the hotel works off of a brand standard, they have rules as to how they function just as ever job does. Ah, and I forgot about the WIFI problem, the property has 132 rooms, when you have at least half of the hotel filled and everyone is on the web at once guess what? oh yeah, its going to bog down the bandwidth. Trust me I'm at a very nice hotel right in Arlington, VA. and everyday I have issues with the WIFI here too. All in all hotel have issues but they strive to make it the best for you and if you are ever in Lubbock, Texas stop by The Hawthorn Suites on Marsha Sharp Frwy. and take a look.
