We only stopped here because we had been on the road all day and were tired. We had originally planned on staying at the La Quinta near the Lubbock airport, but being as we had never been to this city before, we were totally lost. So we stopped here, since it was on the route we were travelling to Austin on.

I could tell right away, that it was located in a run down, possibly seedy area of Lubbock. The woman who checked us in was pleasant though. As expected, room was old, worn, and not very clean. Towels were old and dingy looking, and they had an old TV circa 1991. The lobby, had what appeared to be a breakfast area with cereal dispensers and an old waffle iron, but we didn't stick around long enough to partake. Hotel was almost deserted, except for a couple of other cars in the parking lot. Very basic ammenites such as a coke machine outside, a couple of snack machines in the lobby area, and an ice machine. Free wifi though.

Reserved a non-smoking room, but put in a room with strong cigarette smell. TV broken. No bath mat. No attention to the basics by the staff. It is very annoying. Oh, one more thing. Most of the paint on the door of my room has peeled off.

Staff seem very nice. Place was mostly empty so it was quiet. It's clean. Though a plumber could really help out. The shower is terrible when you switch to coming out of the shower 60% still comes out of the bottom so the pressure is terrible and if you turn the sink on too high water goes all over the counter. Overall can't got wrong for the price.

We stayed here for a rock concert and a little shopping; thus, we just needed a place to lay our heads at night. We phoned them to let them know we would be arriving late (1:00 am) and they seemed to understand - it was hard to tell because no one spoke English very well. We arrived and the night manager was extremely rude (edit: EXTREMELY) and tried to charge our card after we informed him TWICE we were paying cash. When we got to our room, it was a typical cheap hotel room, i.e. cheap carpet and furnishings, badly executed repairs, etc. I could overlook it as the sheets and bathroom were pretty clean and I was tired. The next day, they were confused that we were going to stay another night, and checked us out (without our knowledge) so we spent an hour and a half on the phone with the corporate people (with all our luggage still in the room). After getting off the phone and finally checking back in, we were furious and not in the mood for any attitude. So, when the manager didn't apologize for the confusion or offer any reduced rate or extra perks, I was just plain miffed. Bottom line? DO NOT BOOK HERE. You WILL regret it. I'm sure Lubbock has plenty of other cheap motels that will not make you FEEL cheap.

Staff are rude and can't speak very good English. No thank yous, have a good evening or come back. Price gouged us just because there was a Texas Tech game and parents weekend. We were not there for either. Room smelled. Hole in the wall with toilet paper stuffed in it. Need was hard. Only 3 pillows for a king bed. Owned by ragheads.....

The rates were cheap for a nights stay. But all the plugs in the room would not hold any electrical things, bed wasn't the most comfortable but not horrible, and had a kinda funny smell. The people that run it are nice though and the breakfast was not bad.

Room Tip: smoking had a lingering smell doesnt get freshened often so get a non-smoking room and just walk out...
