In a rush and were to eat, Johnny Cace's! You'd probabely think no, I don't have the time, but you do. Went in for an early Sunday lunch...wasn't in the mood for brunch and had a blackened chicken salad instead and it was out of this world.

This family-owned restaurant has been good for the past 50 years that I have been a customer. The shrimp remoulade/avocado salad is very tasty. The steaks are great. Service is always dependable with friendly wait staff. This is the place to go to make memories.

Oysters carousel and smoked oysters are always succulent. Raw oysters are perfect. We like the Creole dishes and the steaks. Mixed drinks are always right. I like the spinach fried oyster salad with sweet pecan dressing when eating light. Cace's is our place to celebrate special occasions and take out-of-town guests. We always choose Cace's over the raucus chain restaurants

Grilled oysters had great flavor, but each one was about the size of a dime.

Read on reviews about the great shrimp in skirts. These are butterfly shrimp that are fryed in a tempura style batter with NO seasoning. Very bland. The tarter and red sauce did have some seasoning, but not enough to make up for the bland shrimp.

On a positive note, the wait staff was very attentive.

Stopped here because my girlfriend came here as a kid in the late 70s. Fun to hear her stories (her grandmother worked here). Staff has been here so long many remembered her. The food was good (not great). Nice background music. It wasn't quite as dated as other reviews made it sound. Overall it was a great experience. Oh... Best coconut cream pie ever!!
