“Excellent Italian, Awesome Steaks!”
Reviewed August 19, 2014

Had a small birthday party for my wifey at Claudio's recently. After making reservations, they had the tables set up ahead of time on the dining side for the 12 of us with high chairs for the small children. We were taken care of by two waitresses and they did a great job. Our orders ran from traditional Italian dishes, the daily special and steaks. Everyone thought their meals were excellent but the steaks were incredible. I ordered the Filleto di Manzo medium-rare and another got the New York Strip. Both were so tender they seemed to melt in our mouths. It's been years since I had a steak that good. Good desserts finished off the evening but unfortunately some weren't available due to the failure of one of their freezers. We will be going back soon and I'll definitely order the Filleto di Manzo again.

“Lots of fun!”
Reviewed July 15, 2014 via mobile

My husband and I went to Claudio's thinking it was a traditional type piano bar. Quiet, soft piano music, etc. That is not what Claudio's is. Claudio's is a restaurant with a small stage and small dance floor.
We went for the music; we had already eaten dinner, but the food looked wonderful and I noticed everyone seemed to be thoroughly enjoying it.
Now, having said that it wasn't what we expected, I'm not saying we didn't enjoy it! We sat at the bar and the service was prompt and friendly; the drinks were good and not overly expensive.
The music was great! Several guest performers were welcomed on stage and they were all very good. We planned on staying a couple of hours but ended up staying about four hours.

“Great bar atmosphere expecially on weekends.”
Reviewed April 8, 2014

This is a romantic bar and restaurant just down from Kemah. The owner is always there. Great entertainment nightly. Food and service are all over the charts. It has been great and terrible. Service is pretty consistently slow unless you sit at the bar. Still a great bar for over 40 crowd.

“Exceeded already high expectations”
Reviewed March 22, 2014

Having heard much about Claudio's (a great Italian restaurant) before our first visit there on March 22, we expected a good dinner and great service. We were not disappointed. Greeted at the door by the manager, we were quickly seated on a Saturday night in a full house even though we had no reservation (an impromptu visit). Our server was very knowledgeable about the menus and the evening's special dinners, and good comprehension of the wine list. We were entertained after ordering by the house magician who went from table to table and personalized his feats of magic. There was also live music from Claudio's piano bar and for those unable to be seated in the bar itself there was a huge flat screen monitor in the main dining area. Service was impeccable for a high-end casual restaurant, from the maître d' to the busperson. The menu was very comprehensive with a wide selection of antipasti, soups and salads and a variety of entrees to suit every taste. Excellently prepared and very appetizing presentation, the entire meal was a delight and we will definitely go there again, and again, and again. And, adding to the pleasure is the fact that the menu is moderately priced. I won't describe the specific dishes we enjoyed because each diner should be able to make up his or her mind about the choices without external influence, but I will say that each of the four of us had different selections, and each believed his or hers was the best. I seldom rave like this about a restaurant, but Claudio's is an experience everyone who loves Italian cuisine should enjoy.

“New hangout for grown ups”
Reviewed October 24, 2013

Scene: We eat out a LOT and were curious to see a piano bar under construction in League City. It's not what we expected but we really like it. We went for Monday happy hour so it might be different on other days or later in the evening. At 6:15 the restaurant was empty but the bar area was full. Dress was casual. The crowd seemed to be happy, friendly locals, mostly over 30. There was live band playing 70's music. Turned out to be open mic night so it was hard to tell who was in the band. It was pretty fluid but everybody was having fun. Some people were dancing.
Drinks: Drinks were ample and well prepared. The house chardonnay was a tasty dry Italian and the martini was expertly prepared.
Food: We could not pass up the Monday special, $14.95 prime rib dinner. It was done exactly as we asked for it and came au jus with garlic mashed potatoes and julienned zucchini. High end comfort food. We also ordered salads (caprese was very nice), dessert, and champagne and the bill, with tip was under $100. We ended up bringing a lot of the dinner home so we could have ordered less, but we were happy. Check their website for prices and daily specials.
Service: Everything was right on cue - there when you want them but not hovering. Professional and friendly.
We couldn't stay late that night but I we will be back. I want to hang with the bar crowd, listen to more music and try some of the Italian food (veal saltimbocca-mmm!).
