Went here twice in 2 week visit to Austin.

both for breakfast, and had a great time,

yes its small, but we all enjoyed our range of breakfasts available.

great pancakes eggs bagels or whatever we had...

it is a bit out of the way, but for a great breakfast... can say its worth the drive.

Hoping for a pleasant Saturday brunch, was sent to this restaurant by a local resident. From the time we arrived, the confusion over service and fairly awful food never stopped. Our first "server" had a nose ring. She also couldn't help, except to produce water. A second "server" kept buzzing past our table, saying our server would be right with us. She finally said she would take our beverage order. Elapsed time: 10 minutes. Our "real" server finally appeared, took our order, and all seemed well. Until the food arrived. Eggs Benedict -NOT! One egg completely set, including yolk, other still runny. Odd, thin, yellowish sauce tasting vaguely of flour and not much else passed for Hollandaise. Obviously some dry mix added to water. Scrambled eggs totally dry, and cold to boot. To finish off our dining experience, a man riding a bicycle arrived, got one cup of coffee, sat two tables away ( we were outside) and proceeded to spend the next thirty minutes talking loudly and non-stop on his cell phone. Completely awful. Will never go back, and would advise others to find a better choice.

We ate breakfast at the Cafe Lago on Sunday, 30 Sep 2012. It was a little hard to find as you can't see it from the road. It is small and was fairly crowded when we were there, but we got a table right away. The staff was very friendly and prices are fairly reasonable. I thought the food was ok, but nothing spectacular.

I love Cafe Lago! While I have had many wonderful lunches there, it's the breakfast that really knocks me out. Everything is delicious, especially their huevos rancheros. But those pancakes! They are light and airy, with subtle sweetness and flavors that make me want to order them again and again. I highly recommend a visit to Cafe Lago.

We were staying in Lakeway Resort and Spa almost a mile from Cafe Lago and found this cafe through TripAdvisor. So we decided to try it for breakfast. Our breakfast was good and the atmosphere was casual and friendly. We enjoyed a lot. Definitely will go back if someday we're on vacation again in that area.
