“Quality, Friendly and Free”
Reviewed December 27, 2013

After dropping a lot of bucks at Moody Gardens two days ago, we decided to visit Sea Center Texas today. How I wish that we had skipped Moody completely and just visited this nice place. Very clean facility. Volunteers go out of their way to visit with you and educate you. Kudos to the two touch tank volunteers who took lots of time to talk with us and tell us all about the items in the tank. The hatchery tour was very informative. Aquariums were very fun to view. A quality experience. Highly recommended! It's a little hard to find, I didn't see one sign directing visitors to the facility. The GPS got us there just fine, though.

“Must go for feeding time”
Reviewed December 14, 2013

This is an amazing lesson in Gulf Coast redfish preservation. Visitors are able to go on a tour to see the entire life cycle of the fish. There are also beautiful aquariums filled with beautiful fish. Our favorite highlights are the touch tanks and watching the feelings of all the species in the large tank. Call for scheduled feeding times.

“Sea center is very nice”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

It is small but enjoyable and a must see if you are in the area. They have a touch tank and things to do for the kiddos. They have very nice tanks. The fish are beautiful. All of the volunteers are very nice and knowledgeable. It is free and they take donations. The gift center offers a few books, posters, toys and t shirts.Check online for their hours, I think they are closed on Mondays. They also have a feeding schedule its fun to watch the sharks and others feed.

“Experiencing the Sea Center and Surrounding Area”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

The Sea Center is a wonderfully interesting and educational experience. In addition to a touch tank for children that adults can also enjoy, there are several room sized aquariums that contain fish indigenous to the Gulf of Mexico, and local wetlands. Information is posted about each of the tanks. Tours are provided through a fish hatchery, fishing contests for children are frequently provided, and there is a boardwalk through the surrounding wetlands, where visitors can see local flora and fauna. Truly a unique experience!

“Great place to take the kids!”
Reviewed November 14, 2013

This is a great place to take the kids! And its free! But I think they accept donations at the door which we do each time we've been here. Anytime we have young visitors to our house from out of town, we take them here. Kids love it! Daddy too since I love to fish!
